I saw someone talk about this show in an older thread…from '06…does anyone still watch it?
I love Flower the meerkat…she kinda reminds me of Timon, too…

I saw this as a preview for Ratatouille! It kinda does remind me of Timon from Lion King. I think the meerkats are cute.

I’ve been a rabid fan of Animal Planet ever since the show first aired on television, and I’ve been watching it ever since. Although my love for animation has slightly replaced my love for animals (I say “slightly”, as I still adore critters to the core), I still watch an Animal Planet show now and then. (Part of the reason why I don’t watch that particular channel as much as I used to is because of the whole incident with Steven Irwin. I miss him dearly. The world just isn’t the same without him…)
I’ve watched Meerkat Manor ever since the forth of fifth show (of the first season) played its harmonious tunes out on the television screen. I absolutely love how well-crafted the story and narration* is, even though the latter is completely unpredictable for both the viewers and the film-makers. The Whiskers family, their friends and enemies, and their ever-present quest to survive the trials of the African lifestyle are simply intriguing.
Shakespeare takes the top spot as my favorite meerkat in the bunch (even though he disappeared in the first season), with Mozart coming in second and Mitch (yes, his name really is ‘Mitch’) following up as the third pick of the litter.
I can’t tell you how long I waited for this third season to be released. Now I actually have something to look forward to on Friday evenings! (snigger)
*I must admit that Sean Astin is a fantastic narrator.

I kinda thought they were real after I saw Timon in the Lion King. I thought that since it appeared with other real animals like a warthog and a lion, it has got to be a real animal. I think I first saw it at a zoo. Really cute, it was sleeping.

Correction: A meerkat is a member of the mongoose family.
As for the whole rodents thing, I’m actually only “partly-obsessed” with rats in general. (Heck, my second favorite animal is the water rat.) Mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, and other rodentia don’t interest me as much, oddly enough. Just for added measure, I don’t have a crush on Remy. Go figure.
And the Mitch remains as weird as ever… (snigger)
