Meet the Robinsons

JV - Cha – the first part of the movie was rather slow, but it got better as the

story began to flow…

I just saw it again today with my dad and sister. Dad liked it, and I got to see

the Ratatouille trailer for the forty-sixth time.

I’ve seen MTR twice and I thought it was alright. The

one thing thing that bothered me was Wilbers voice. He sounded way too mature for a 13 year old.

As much as I love Wilbur, I

admit I was weirded out by his surprisingly low 13-year-old voice, and there were a few lines he spoke that

didn’t sound so low, which was even weirder.

Perhaps boys mature faster in the future.

Heheh.

~~=oP

Cha – I noticed that, as well. Wilbur’s voice seemed to

be alot higher in the trailer for the film…for some reason. And then when you listen to him talk in the movie

itself he sounds five years older than he really is. Odd, but it does kinda seem to work… :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, it does fit him. I like

it. ;-p

PV and Wilbur, sittin’ in a…

Ok, I’ll stop. :stuck_out_tongue:

And here comes Tony to chop it

down. Silly Mitch. :stuck_out_tongue:

I just have one question.

How is the music? What I mean by that is if

it’s the type of movie with wall to wall contemperary pop and rock songs with almost no orchestral musical score

to speak of like most of Dreamwork’s Animated CGI Films and Chicken Little. Basically spitting in the face of

the musical genious that is Danny Elfman or is it mostly brilliant and wacky music score by Elfman with no more

than 3 songs that really compliment the movie and fit the sequences they are in such as like in Over The Hedge

which had only 3 songs all of which were very fitting and well intergrated into the score. No jerky stops and no

lame fade outs. The songs intergrated perfectly into the music score. They blended.

So which is it?

Bealive it or not this will effect my decision to go see it. I know Im a wierdo.

The soundtrack includes 10

tracks by Danny Elfman and 8 songs by Rufus Wainwright, Rob Thomas, The All-American Rejects, Jamie Cullum, They

Might Be Giants, and Jonas Brothers.

I’ve been listening to it infrequently. It’s no

Incredibles soundtrack, but it’s good. It’ll probably catch on if I listen to it

more often. So far, my favorite song is “The Future Has Arrived” by The All-American Rejects.

Second

time watching(in 2-D, need to see in 3-D at some point), I actually noticed some other things like the Jungle

Book and Toy Story 2 signs at the baseball game, a “3-D, just a fad?” thing on a board at the science

fair (could easily be applied to either the 3-D format or CG animation either way in my book) and like a lot of

people seem to be talking about: the 2DBB203 license plate (2D Be Back, though the 203 seems rather ambiguous in

meaning)

Interesting thing I found about Wilbur’s voice actor on iMDB: He voiced Charlie Brown in some

2002 specials.

PV and Mitch -

I noticed that Wibur’s voice was different too. Specifically with the “to the future” line. I was

wondering “what’s going on?” !

And no, I will not add to this whole thing you guys are

having, about certain cartoon characters. You know what I’m talking about.

Even if Wilbur’s voice

is a little low, I still love it to death. It fits. And hey, maybe he just

developed early. No one grows up the same, you know? XD (I hope you guys know that ‘XD’ is a face. I’ve been

trying to abstain from using it, but I give up. So, if you didn’t know… it’s a face. Pretty much equilivent

to ‘lol’. …XD)

Now, as for the soundtrack- I actually really like it! Danny rarely disappoints me.

Although the bonus track ‘Kids of the Future’ is kind of annoying (and that is in no way related to Danny’s

awesome score- I think that was just Disney being lame…), the whole CD is still rather fun. If I had the

booklet with me, I’d point out which score tracks are my favorites. As for my favorite actual

song on the CD, I’d say ‘The Future has Arrived’, like PixarVixen. (Even though

it was played in the credits.)

As far as how the music fit into the movie, personally I think it fit in

well. No abrupt ‘transistions’ aka ‘anti-transistions’ as I call them, and the songs all fit into the

theme and story pretty well. I say it’s definately worth the buy, although as PixarVixen said avout the

Incredibles soundtrack… I say, it’s no ‘Finding Nemo’ soundtrack- but it’s cute.

 They attach lame Disney

Channel bands to movie soundtracks so they have something to play during commercial breaks.

Pheh.

I’m hoping I’ll see this film today- it looks interesting ^^ Kinda strange, but more

promising than most cartoons that have been released lately.

That “Kids of the Future” song is

annoying- especially since I recall hearing “Kids of America” with something to do with Jimmy Neutron a

while back, and it seems “Kids of the Future” was just re-done to the same tune. =P

Kids of America was in a lot of movies released

in the 90’s, not just Jimmy Neutron. Kids of the Future is like a copy and paste of bad lyrics over the old tune

of Kids of America. Pretty annoying. Especially because it’s one of Disney’s emo-pop bands that I really

don’t understand. Ah well.

Wooo I saw it. ^^

Wasn’t my type of movie, but awesome nonetheless. A big pick-me-up, since I was thoroughly depressed over having

to go back to school tomorrow =P

I recommend anyone who hasn’t seen it to see it. It’s pretty

interesting- not half bad for a Disney film. Lasseter was executive producer

FONY - I’m glad you liked

it! Did you cheer when John Lasseter’s name was displayed on the screen? I did… (snigger)

I did have to stifle a scream,

lol. xD

I knew there was something fishy about the film. He was the reason why it was good. And the

reason for the ad of TS2 in the baseball field. ^^

Hey now, not that I don’t want to give John any credit… but I also don’t want

to rob the original creaters of it either. This movie has been in the making quite awhile, and I’m pretty sure

John only popped into the picture about a year ago- so it isn’t ALL John. I’m thinking John just had a few

changes made in certain scenes, etc; but I wouldn’t say the film is good solely because of him. That isn’t

very fair.

I’m also not picking on you Fairly Odd New Yorker, a lot of people have been saying similar

things and I just wanted to put in my own two bits.

I just meant if I knew he had something

to do with it at first, I’d’ve gone to see it without a second thought. It was a lot better than I expected,

though I can’t compare much with the others since I never saw Chicken Little.

I’m psyched to know Nicole

Sullivan played Franny! xD I’m a daily viewer of MadTV so that was cool that she had a part in it.

My

favorite character was Goob. ^^

And the villain (forgot his name) was hysterical. I love his animation-

his movements and satanic grins. xD
