Wow, that was some pretty cool footage. The setting still looks a little devoid of that ‘spark of life’ we see in other movies like Incredibles and Wall-E… there’s hardly any civilians walking around and it’s highly reminiscent of Monsters vs Aliens uninspired cityscapes.
Having said that though, the humour is pretty good, if a little Dreamworks-snarky. I’m beginning to like David Cross’ fish-ape mutant character (what a cute face for a villainous henchman!) and of course, the chemistry between Tina Fey and Will Ferell’s character (you can sort of tell they have a long history of Stockholm Syndrome).
I can’t put my finger on it, but the [spoil]‘replacement hero’[/spoil] reminds me of one of the Supers from ‘The Incredibles’ during the ‘No Capes’ Montage, not to mention he’s a redhead much like the baddie in T.I. Did anyone have a deja-vu feeling with regards to that character?
Like most of you, the ‘No You Can’t’ Posters was my favourite bit, as well as the ‘unfathomable’ line. And like thewisecookiesheet, I was wondering what Jonah Hill’s character has to do with the story ([spoil]although I have a feeling he’ll be the ‘replacement hero’ for Metroman[/spoil]).
Oh, and thank goodness [spoil]Metroman’s corpse[/spoil] didn’t fly towards the screen as I expected. Although it was still pretty gruesome to see [spoil]his remains, I wonder whether it is a ‘fake death’.[/spoil]
I can honestly say, the comic con footage just made me want to see this movie even more. It looks pretty funny, and I love all the actors they have in it, especially David Cross, Tina Fey and Jonah Hill. I liked the bit with the “unfath-, without fathom”, and the part about the sun heating up
This movie doesn’t look like it’s going to be horrible, but it doesn’t look like it’ll be great either. It doesn’t look like a movie that I’d want to fork out $11 for in the theaters, so I’ll rent it when it comes out on DVD.
I’m pretty lucky as far as theaters go. There’s a Silver City I can go to when there’s a movie I’m willing to spend $14 on (like a 3D movie), and another, cheaper theater I can go to to see a movie for $6 I’ll probably see Megamind with my sister, and she’ll definitely want to se it in 3D, so I hope this movie is worth the $40 I’ll have to fork over…

If it sounds too…formal, it’s because I copied it from the site. It usually has movies that came out awhile ago. Like HTTYD, Iron Man 2, and Marmaduke. They’ll get TS3 soon, because they already have Jonah Hex.
This is no joke! When I saw Despicable Me, I only had ten bucks on me and asked the cashier to give me whatever size popcorn and Coke I could get for that amount. I got a small for both, and a few coins in return. It’s clear how movie theaters make the bulk of their profit.
I bring my own chocolate and drinks from home, to avoid being gouged by their ridiculously high concession stand prices. Sometimes I even sneak in some bags of popcorn in my extremely oversized purse
Evil_Genius_27: That’s what I’m talking about! Sneaking food in. There is a giant dollar store a block away from the movie theater, so everyone gets their junk food there and sneaks it in.
queen_of_painting: Exactly why I never get to go to any movies, because I can’t afford it!
pixarfan9099: What sort of wonderland do you live in, $1.50 for an evening showing? For a non 3D movie here in the evening it’s $9.00.
I feel the same TAMATER! The teaser was lame, but this new footage is cool. Based on the teaser, I never thought I’d want to see this movie. It’s unfathomable, unfa- without fathom.
Okay… I confess. I was markedly more impressed with this trailer than the first one. There were actually some pretty fun jokes in there. I loved the “Oh, he’s gonna crash, bwasssshhh…”
Doesn’t look as good as Dragon and Shrek 4, but it’s actually looking better now.
Yeah, I wouldn’t mind seeing it once, just for fun, which I guess it will be. Nothing to be amazed off, like Dragon for instance, but still… Should be at least entertaining.
I thought that plot twist was known by everybody at this point. I remember knowing about it back when the movie was called Oobermind, and Robert Downey Jr. was attached to the movie. This was when Dreamworks announced it’s up coming movies. This was last year, or maybe the year before.
Alright, I actually kind of liked the Comic-Con trailer. With the “No You Can’t” Poster and “I’m like your space Dad” It made me kind of want to see the movie.
But the 3rd trailer was so unimpressive. I’m not going to see it, this new movie killed the trailer for me.
The third trailer gave away the whole plot basically. In the 2nd trailer Megamind is dead, but in this one they give away that he comes back. Ugh.
