Dang it, this is the thing though, trailers have to strike a balance between giving the audience enough of a flavour to know what the heck is going on and yet not reveal everything.
Still going to see it though. I want to see how it’s pulled off.
I did laugh at a few parts though particularly:
“What’s the plan?”
“Well, most of it involves not dying.”
“Oh, good plan. I like that plan.”
and Brad Pitt singing- guilty pleasure.
I’m still planning on watching this movie but I guess I have to lower my expectations after seeing this trailer
Thanks for adding that Bryko, I checked the 3rd trailer out and its trying to be funny and get people to watch it. Usually those types of trailers fail, I’m not sure how this movie will play out. The quality of the movie looks good, but not so sure about the storyline.
Looks alright to me. Maybe a decent popcorn flick. I can already tell this is more like the “Shrek” Dreamworks and not like the “How to Train Your Dragon” Dreamworks that I was hoping to see more of.
I think they intended for this movie to be more comedic and silly. But movies have suprised me. I thought HTTYD was gonna be silly and it turned out quite nice.
Often times trailers dont do the movie justice.
No I don’t, Czarine. I’m just pointing out the coincidental similarities.
I’m really only liking Minion (cos’ I’m a fan of David Cross since he voiced Master Crane in KFP) and maybe Tina Fey’s character. I’m hoping for something of a ‘How to Train Your Dragon’/‘Despicable Me’ case of *****y trailer, awesome movie here, but for the moment, it’s all up in the air for me.
My thoughts exactly. I loved the Comic-Con footage, but the third trailer is extremely juvenile. Plus, they revealed that major plot twist…I’m still going to see it, but my expectations have been lowered significantly.
By the looks of it, I think this movie is going to be similar to Monsters vs Aliens. Both have good looking CG and special effects. With a lot of slapstick humor, but they lack in story and with everything spoiled in the 3rd trailer, it just made this movie less enjoyable. The whole plot mystery is gone and the major spoiler of metro man being alive ruined it. From the trailer you can tell hows it going to play out.
So the cover art for ‘The Art of…’ coffee table book has been released on Amazon. Notwithstanding the amazingly-asinine-alliterated tagline, it looks pretty good. And DOR-15 even gets a cameo!
I don’t really have any real thoughts on it. I may watch it or may not. It doesn’t look bad. Also, I don’t see the similarities between this and The Incredibles. The only real similarity is the Superhero theme.
I agree. I also think it’ll be in the same line as Monsters Vs. Aliens, which was enjoyable, but far from magnificent.
The only thing I don’t agree with is the good CG aspect you mention. After a close examination I did last time I watched Monsters Vs. Aliens, I realized the animation wasn’t that great.
But maybe I’m wrong and Megamind continues with the most recent amounts of creativity that Dreamworks is starting to develop. After all, watching the trailers, I never knew How to Train your Dragon would be good.
Thanks for the link Oh_Andy! I love the ‘Heroes aren’t born’ poster as well, that’s the best of all the posters so far. But that second one… can’t quite put my finger on it… it looks incredibly familiar…
And here we have Titan’s character poster. That torso looks disturbingly long…
