Believe it or not, Badger, but you’re absolutely right, in my opinion. Shrek 4 was probably the most touching in the entire series (although Shrek 1 remains the funniest).

Maybe not better, but ‘just as good’ would not be an impossible hope. I agree with you though, that they are wasting the great talent pool they have on mediocre scripts and terrible potty humour. You only have to see their ‘Art of’ books to realize the artists at DW are ‘just as good’ as the ones at Pixar.
I’m not going to lie, I get excited when a DW film is doomed to stink. What I dislike is when they make a killing(Shrek 2 ) or are preferred over Pixar(KFP. Loved it, but Wall-E is way deeper.)
Honestly, this movie angers me on quite a few points…could someone fire Jeff Katz already?
If you like the movie, good for you I hope you enjoy watching it. If you hate the movie, no need to be all angry about it, just don’t watch it. It’s not like DW is forcing you to watch bad movies.
Having the same release date 6 years later, making uncannily similar movies, etc. It’s Jeff Katz’s fault and I don’t blame anyone else, but it still makes me very angry.
Oh, right. I didn’t even know the release date until now.
I’m happy because I don’t care about Dreamworks movies anymore and I barely read the updates about them. I think I haven’t seen one on theaters for years after one disappointment after other.
I’m not dissing Megamind by now, but so far it doesn’t look like a great movie. I’ll watch it on home video before making any commentary, but even if it sucks I don’t think it’s worth our time.
^ I agree, but I feel the need to hate on things that get undeserved fandom and love. I mean mostly in real life, since nobody here is really gushing on it, thank God.
I agree with Virginia. Dreamworks just makes me anrgy, and even though there have been some good movies, most really aren’t watchable. Shrek was hilarious, and HtTYD was really emotional for me. So I don’t hate all of their movies. In fact, those two I mentioned are really great.
I’m not gonna dis Megamind before I see it, but that won’t be for a long time.
I know this’ll sound mean, but I really hope that Dreamworks doesn’t catch up to Pixar in their movie standards. I just can picture people turning on Pixar then for some reason. I don’t want to see that happen
Yes, and we need Chris Sanders to do a Pixar film. He’s done Disney and DW, so if he does Pixar, he’ll have experienced all the major animation departments except Blue Sky.
Lilo and Stitch is very emotional for me. I didn’t really notice it as much when I was little(though my mom bought me a Lilo doll ), but now I’m obsessed with it.
Yeah, I figure that’s probably why I love it so much. Then again, I just saw Princess and the Frog and it’s not part of my childhood. I guess it’s an average movie, but I loved it.
What I’m saying is that, as it came after the Pixar age began, quality standards in animation had just raised, and it wasn’t as satisfying as the films of, let’s say, the Disney Renaissance.
