I grate my teeth every time I see it. The fact that Mike would go and spend all their hard
earned wages on something like that car, when, as Sulley rightly said, ‘what was wrong with the old one?’ AND
Mike bought it without really considering Sulley’s size- sure, he can adjust the seats, but the size of the
doors are permanent!
Apart from that, it IS very funny. ![]()
When I saw the short, I was hoping that I could have a car like that. But also,
after watching it, I’m just happy for what I have. (Even if I currently don’t own a car). Mike and Sulley are
so funny though.
Hahaha, well, that’s Mike for you.
I thought it was hilarious. I think my
favourite parts of that short was Sulley trying to adjust his seat (and then Mike suddenly yelling at him), and
when Sulley tries to fix the mirror, but it breaks and Mike’s like, “… get out of my car.”
Hahaha!
It must be painful for Mike to get traped inside the engine. Ouch!
But not enough to stop him from getting to a phone! ![]()

I think Mike bought the car for Mike.
They have separate wages (and probably quite significant wages, given Sulley is CEO of Monsters, Inc. and Mike is
one of the top Comics), so it’s Mike’s choice whether or not to buy the car. Sulley doesn’t strike me as the
kind of guy who’s really into cars, his size probably being a factor in that.
Anywho, I loved this short.
It was a three minute “Torture Billy Crystal” fest. I also would love to see how that car would look in
the Cars world. ![]()
Agree with you therre RMS.
(cough) PV (cough)

True, true…But technically, Mike did have a
pretty flash car before Sulley got to be CEO, and since the Scarer’s wages at MI were apparently ‘minimum’,
then he did really spend money he didn’t have…But hey, I’m going off topic here.
I love the 'six
wheel drive’ line, very funny. ![]()

You’re telling me - But I loved in all that screaming and
scraping, he manages to get his cell phone and sream at Sulley: “PUSH THE BUTTON!”
Sure everyone knows my views on movie
based shorts, just like my view on sequels. I’d rather have a seperate new world and characters.
Anyway,
haven’t seen this one yet either.
. Just more fun when I FINALLY get my Monsters Inc 2 Disc from
eBay.
I don’t know if you’re just waiting to get the 2-Disc to see it, but it’s all over
YouTube if you just wanna see the short. ![]()
Nah I’m waiting dude, it makes the DVD better.
Yea I feel you, I’m a fan of quality myself. You’ll
prolly enjoy it more. ![]()

I suspect that prior to Sulley becoming CEO,
SULLEY probably was the one who had to pay the bills and the rent, and Mike bought…stuff. Most of the things
in their apartment belonged to MIKE, such as the fancy-schmancy stereo, all those DVD’s and CD’s, the drawing
talble, etc. Sulley’s belongings seemed limited to his chair(which he bought for $10.00 at a yard sale, big
spender that he is), his bed, a few books on a shelf, and a couple of cinder blocks, and if those last items
aren’t bachelor pad furnishings, I don’t know what is!
Mike totally deserved the Karma he reaped in
“Mike’s New Car”, though. He is absolutely vain; Sulley was right in that there was nothing wrong
with Mike’s old car, but it wasn’t “new” or “fashionable” enough for Mike. Mike also put
the material object ahead of his best friend, in kicking Sulley out of the car, as if the big guy could help
breaking the mirror(which was probably made of some cheap plastic junk, anyway). And of course, there are plenty
of other things Mikey has done to deserve his come-uppance. If only Earl and Randy Hickey could have been
standing on the curb; I bet Randy would have had something really deep to say to Mike, like, "You know,
maybe you shouldn’ta yelled at your buddy like that. I yelled at this kid in first grade once, who was sorta my
buddy only he really wasn’t, 'cuzz I had this pack of grape bubble gum and he wanted some, only I just had a
little bit left and I didn’t wanna share it with him, and he kept buggin’ me and stuff, so I hollered at him to
leave me alone. The next day he got hit by a truck on the way to school, and I felt really bad. And the moral
of that is, I shoulda had strawberry bubblegum, 'cuzz he didn’t like strawberry, and then he wouldn’ta bugged
me and I wouldn’ta had to yell at him, and then I wouldn’ta felt so bad 'cuzz he got hit by that truck. You
know, my brother here has this list thingie, 'cuzz he used to do a lot of really bad things and all…maybe YOU
outa think of making a list yourself! I bet he could help you get started, right,
Earl?"
