Misconceptions?

 Meh? I thought that the bubble was to decontaminate the whole restaurant. Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t the CDA guy - right before the bubble shows up - say something about the building being clear and ready for decontamination?

“We can neither confirm nor deny the presence of a human child here tonight.”

I think that was afterwards.

You’re, but that wasn’t the quote I was talking about. He says it right before Mike says “Well, I don’t think that date could’ve gone any worse.”

Yes, the mega-lumino-spheri-viridi-tersa-un-liber-er was meant to decontaminate Harryhausen’s so they could search easier.

Well, vaporizing or decomtaminating, either one shows that they are really cautious about the “toxic child” thing.

I don’t know how, but when I was 7 and I saw a trailer for Finding Nemo, I thought Dory was a guy! I then realized I was wrong when I heard the line “What is it with men and asking for directions?”

Let me clear up a few things…

For Randall’s plan, it was actually Waternoose’s. And you’ve got a very good opinion on how the Extractor operates, good for you

Well Celia has a name for each snake if I recall, so maybe they are heh

The field of light DID vaporize Harry Hausens. Fact. If nobody thinks it is, check the comic version of Monsters Inc. With Wazowski and Sullivan running with big BOOM marks behind them and an explosion, I think it’s easy to get. When you think about it, yeah. I mean they blow up a simple sock.
They take toxiciticy very seriously there…one would have to imagine the horror if a monster, without fur mind you, was completely “covered” in the so-called “toxic”. And since the Toxic Card is a lie, the actions were over the top…

Well perhaps Remy wanted to finally be acknowledged. It’s unsure how long it’s been since Linguini took over Guesteau’s, so maybe it was a few months, to develop his relationship with Collete. But I suppose his anger was more focused on Linguini purposely taking credit.

Colette Linguini - Dude, I thought the same thing when I first saw the Finding Nemo teaser trailer! Her design was a little different at that stage though, so I suppose she just looked more… “tomboy-ish” then. (snigger) :stuck_out_tongue:

Admittedly, that was probably one of the misconceptions I had the very first time I saw Monsters, Inc. I soon realised how wrong I was the next time I saw the film though. :stuck_out_tongue:

Why is it that you can get embarrassed by yourself sometimes? It’s the craziest thing.

I never understood how the Parrs’ masks stay on. Can someone help me out here?

My sister asked the same thing, and I also have to question that. And how do they hide their identity? It’s only the eyes. And doesn’t it feel hot in their suits? (I am not being too critical about The Incredibles, just wondering.)

I’m pretty sure that I thought Francis was a girl for a little while there. Of course, that’s not very uncommon I’d imagine.

That reminds me of when before A Bug’s Life came out. I can still remember there being a double page spread about it in the paper, with a picture of all of the main characters with a list of their names down the side. It’s was a sort of, ‘guess the name of the character’ type thing, and I always thought Francis’ name was Manny (until I watched the film, of course.)

As for the Parrs’ masks staying on, well, they seem very fitted to each of their faces. So, they might be made out of a type of material that naturally clings to skin, almost like a suction cup type thing? That’s the only thing I can think of, aside from it just being a bit of ‘Pixar magic’. :stuck_out_tongue:

I believe that it might be hot for TI in their super suits, and the masks can probably be explained by Pixar magic doing its job. I didn’t realize it until I got the DVD.

Two misinterpretations I remember:

I wasn’t used to how superheroes had secret identites all the time, and I thought Bob and Helen were made-up new names just to hide from the police.

Before I saw Finding Nemo, and just saw a sneak peak, I thought Marlin was Nemo’s older brother

Another misinterpretation I just remembered. At the beginning of Finding Nemo, when Coral’s voice is heard, for a second I thought the anemone was talking.

Towards the end of Jack-Jack Attack, I thought Jack-Jack broke Kari’s leg or something.
