Good question. I always wondered this myself (especially concerning the “Rat Band” music), but I’ve finally come to the conclusion that the duration of these tracks is simply too short to have been included in the soundtrack itself. However, there’s a good chance that that could be a misconception on my part…
Heh. I’m really not sure. I do wish they had included both tracks, but oh well…

P.S. You can listen to the “Rat Band” score in the Ratatouille video game (in/on the “Home Stink Home” level/area). Of course, you’d have to buy the game itself to hear it… (heh)
Well, I still don’t have the soundtrack, but something similar happened with the Cars OST. Remember the track that was playing during Doc’s race on the dirt? It wasn’t included on the soundtrack either…
Um well this is the modern day so you can do it on 2 CD’s just for the entire score not songs and stuff (I do believe they released the entire Monster’s Inc score. Something like 50 tracks), or even offer it for download through a web address with a code that you buy in store or even through the iTunes Store or something. It’s not really that hard.
TSS- I’ve got the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack, and it has pretty much the whole score on the CD, but I guess it was a shorter film in comparison.
lizardgirl - Ahh – the good 'ol days. Oh, how I miss them. Heheh…
Well, I’m sure the music artists had an adequate and…“legitimate” reason for omitting those particular bits of music from the soundtrack. I do wish they had included them, but oh well.
For those who have the soundtrack, where the heck did you buy it? I looked in WalMart- all I found was those childish food songs CD. I looked in the Disney store, same food CD. Looked in KMart, same food CD.
FONY - I purchased mine from Best Buy, and the CD I got there just happened to be the last one of its kind on the wrack (as usual). If you don’t want to try Best Buy I would recommend checking Amazon.com for the product, as I’m pretty sure that they have it.
You’d think that the Disney Store, of all places, would have stocked the item, but alas!, they don’t have it. Typical.
The Star Swordsman - If you click on the link, it will tell you, but I’ll just state it here:
The price for a new version of the CD is approxiamately $13.00, which isn’t too bad when you think about it. It’s less than what I paid for mine, anyway. (snigger)
