They’re so cute, Mitch! And it only took you about 2 minutes! Well, just like TSS said, practice makes perfect!
I wonder what’s Remy looking at in the second drawing…

Thanks, Maggie!
Puh-ha! Yeah, I probably should have explained that. He’s looking at a star, and a very badly drawn one at that. (laughs)
Oh, so that’s a star! Thanks for clearing me up!
BTW, my Remy drawing is almost done!
Haha – no problem!
I can’t wait to see that Remy drawing!
No way
Very sweet, Mitch! It’s a good idea to practise getting the eyes and body position to be referring to a certain point. They’re very good for such quick sketches, although his feet could be a little slimmer, but his general proportions are very good and his pose is good as well. Nice work.
nightwheel - Yes way. (snigger)
lizardgirl - Thanks, lizardgirl! Yeah…the feet. Don’t even get me started on how much trouble I have in sketching those. But I’m workin’ on it! Heheh.
Update: So I got this really crazy idea for a late
Mother’s Day drawing – one involving Helen Parr and Remy – after looking at a box of cereal or something… The
problem is constructing it to look good. I’m going to try and make it look as funny as possible, however.
(snigger)
The order/list still stands as follows:
Rick Dicker
Old lady
from Ratatouille
Well, please hurry. Everytime you say you are going to do it, only to have people waiting. I
am just so excited. Everytime you post in here, I always expect a pic instead.
Before I start on the “Helen and Remy” drawing, I decided to get a
basic feel for one of the characters and drew Remy in a very fluent pose. You may recognize it as a shot from the
international Ratatouille poster.
This has to be my best Remy sketch yet,
besides the fact that his body is maybe a little too small and his hands/paws are the strangest looking things
ever. I finally set to putting some effort into drawing the little rascal on model instead of doing a cheap
sketch of the dude. But, I’ve decided to make a poll out of this! Since I can’t decide, I’ll just see which
selection gets the most votes:
How should I finish off the
drawing?
a) Color it
b) Shade it via a black
pencil

]
I’ll agree about your best remy sketch.
I just feel like you can add two things. More stuff in the background and some color. Other than that, it looks
great.
That’s one vote for color!
Color: 1 vote
Black pencil/shading: 0
votes
And yeah, I’m gonna add some more stuff in the backround once I’m satisfied with the vote total.
Very well. I just think you should add
more because remy looks like he is standing on a little stick.
That… is the
best Remy drawing you’ve ever done,
Mitch!
I personally think you should color it, and yeah, add some more
stuff to the background.
Color is winning by a
two-fer!!
Color: 2 votes
Black
pencil/shading: 0 votes
Whichever option gets five votes first will win.
The Star Swordsman - Cha – don’t worry. I’ll fix the stick problem.
Heheh.
Maggie - Thanks, Maggie! Yes, I must add
more backround junk. (snigger)
Do you plan
on drawing the whole Paris France background?
Holy man, that is the best
drawing of Remy that you’ve done. OMG, that’s great.
Oh, and you must and
color, and more things in the backround.
Mitch- Ooh, very nice lineart! This is definitely the best Remy drawing you’ve
ever done, and that’s especially on his facial expression. His paws have improved a lot, too, but with some
colour, I think you can really make them 3D.
So, I also vote for colour!
Well, that is a 4-0 for color for you Mitch. So what do
ya say? Will you color it and add some beautiful background?
Haha – only 4 points for
color so far, but I think I know which one has won the vote. (snigger)
Color it is! I was leaning
more towards color anyway, so I’m gonna go for it.
The Star Swordsman -
Puh-ha! The whole Parisian backround? That’ll be alot of work, but sure! I’ll take the challenge…
Bill and lizardgirl - Thank you both!
Although, now that I look at the drawing again, I hate it. More improvement! But maybe it’ll look
better after some shading and color…
