Great! I can’t wait to see it. BUt I am sure you will not disappoint us.
Alright, so I haven’t colored the other thing yet,
but I have been drawing Remy like crazy. Seriously, I have too many drawings of him
to count – so many, in fact, that my sketchbook is falling apart from the strain. I’m not kidding you…
On the plus side, that means that I have some new stuff to submit to Pixar
Planet! I only chose the best pictures, and so far…just two seem to have made it to the top. In
the words of Emeril: BAM! Badda-bing:

Cartoon Version of Remy
n----------
Picture #1: Yesterday, I purchased the The Art of
Ratatouille book, and I was so entranced by a picture on page number 58 that I just
had to draw it… I still need to practice my shading, composition, and anatomy
skills, but overall…I’m pretty pleased with how the drawing itself came out. Although, truth be told, it looks
alot better in person.
Picture #2: I decided to
try drawing Remy in my dad’s style…by giving him simple shapes a curved nose. Low and behold, it worked! This
has to be one of the few drawings of Remy that I’ve made where he actually looks
like Remy. And I’m likin’ this new “cartoon-style” Remy that I’ve discovered…
Edit: Aw, dang it. Sorry the second drawing is so light. Stinkin’
copying machine. (snigger)
Hmm, the two remy drawings look really good. I think that the first one sticks out the most.
Seriously. The shading looks realy nice. I couldn’t believe that it was from a concept art though. Nice
work.
The first one is more eye-catching than the second, but the second is very cartoony which I paticularly like.
Hehe, you did good on these Mitch . What do you plan to draw in the future ?
Off Topic: Oh and by the way, go to the Tim Burton section and see the newest link I did. You’re one of
the main people I posted that for.
But back on topic, good work as always.
Both are wonderful and wonderfully done! I can’t say which I prefer.
Thanks for the comments, guys!
Bill - Sure thing! I’ll check out that Tim
Burton thread…
Yay! You got the Art of Ratatouille! That picture makes
me want to cry. Nice work with the shading!
The second one is way cute! I love it. Glad you
found a new style that you like!
sharpie - Thank you very much!
Oh yeah,
I know. I looked at that picture and I just…stopped dead. I can completely relate to Remy on…some levels.
Heh. Poor little guy…
The Art of Ratatouille book is absolutely
amazing. I just love the character designs!
vimfuego - Wow – you’re stopping
by my board? I don’t feel worthy, considering you draw…ten times better than I
do… (snigger)
Thanks for the compliments, though! I really appreicate it. But seriously, I’ve spent
too much time drawing Remy. Heheh.
Lol. I arrest my case.
Thanks for taking
the time to check my art out, though. Heheh.
I forgot about that… slaps self
(Man, what’s wrong with me? I’ve been so
brain-dead after that Star Wars convention…)
Just curious, how long did it take you to draw the concept art picture? It sounds like it took you a long
time.
Aww, Mitch, that first one is simply…
BEAUTIFUL!
I’m in love with it. The shading job is
just superb.
The second one is very cute, too! It makes me laugh!
One last thing:
You have the Art of Ratatouille?! I’m so jealous! I want it too!
Mitch-
I think
you’ve got the pose in the first picture down really well, and Remy’s facial expression is very convincing. You
gotta feel for the little guy, he looks so sweet! It’s good to see that you’re trying out some shading, too,
as it can really add another dimension to artwork. I recommend trying to do shading in all directions, not just
one, as that can give a more toned and even look, but a very good practice nonethless!
That cartoon Remy
is adorable! His little laid back ears are especially good, and the curve of his nose is very rat like. I love
it!
The Star Swordsman - The concept art picture took
approxiamately 20-30 minutes to draw (give or take).
Maggie - Haha – well,
thank you! I’m glad you like them.
And yeah – get that book! Although, I must warn you now that it
spoils a couple of things (character art and a possible ending to the film).
lizardgirl - Heheh – thank you very much! I’ll definitely keep that
shading tip in mind. I do love to shade; I don’t know why I don’t do it more often…
Again, thank you
all!! It’s really encouraging.
Note: I figured that I
may as well say this now before I forget:
Criticisms are greatly
appreciated!!
Seriously, throw them at me! I want to know what is wrong with my pictures
and what could use some improvement. That’s how I learn how to draw better.
I don’t mind being spoiled,
I WANT THAT BOOK!
Maggie - Haha – glad to hear that I’m not the only one who
likes spoilers!! (snigger)
Of course, I could always just PM you and tell you what the spoilers
are. Or I could draw them… I really want to draw them.
Let’s see… PM me or draw them? Hmm… How about both?
Haha – both, it is!!
20-30
minutes huh? Not bad. It looks so professional looking I’ll admit.
