I can’t wait to see it.
I’ve been getting into Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends lately, so could you have a go at drawing Bloo, please? <3 (He’s my fav).
Uh, so you want a bit of perspective on that perspective, huh? Heh.
I think overall the perspective of the room is good, but a few of the little details need works such as the frays of the rug and magnets on the fridge. But I’m not sure, though, if that’s what is most important since the task was probably more about drawing the eye to the back of the room than the details… If that is so, than I think you did well. I also think the lines could be a bit straighter, like in the room with the TV, on the the wall.
I like the rat on the TV.
rachel - Ha! I’ve been meaning to draw Bloo, actually, as I like him, as well. I’ll get on to sketching him in due time.
Thank you very much for the critique! I did realize that the rug is not the fanciest thing in the world, as I rushed on the tassels/frays, and that the magnets sucked, so I’m glad that you pointed those out – it alerts me to the fact that my work could use some improvement.
The project itself involves drawing a room in perspective and then composing five other rooms on top of the main one. So far, I have only finished inking the main room and one of its five counterparts, the latter being the drawing I provided a link to above. Personally, I’ll be pleased when the project is fully complete. (heh)
Ha-ha. Thanks.
– Mitch
Cool. Thanks for accepting the Bloo request. I look forward to seeing your interpretation of him. Take your time, though. There’s no rush.
Oh, your welcome with the critique. I think if you take your time, then the little details will naturally become more polished. But that’s easy to fix. Good luck with the rest of the rooms you have to do. Are you going to try to sneak a Ratatouille reference into every room?
rachel - No problem. I’ll do my best complete your request as soon as I find time to do so.
Yes, indeed. With practice comes perfection, and even then there is something else that could use improvement, which is fine by me.
Ha! You know, I just might do that…
Some of you may have already seen the following compositions on my deviantArt page, but I shall repost them here, in any case:
Rat and Egg:
Imagination is Limitless:
I’m an animator! Voila’: “Ratimation”
The first and third projects were done as part of an application I sent in to the InnerSpark/CSSSA (California State Summer School for the Arts) institution. For more information on the program and the animated sequence, feel free to access the link to the “Ratimation” project above.

Awwww, the rats look really really cute Mitch. I love them. they are too adorable.
The Star Swordsman - Thank you very much, dude!
– Mitch
You’re totally welcome. Can’t wait for more.
I think that my artwork is improving…
Zoot - An original character that I recently created. Her species name and history are unknown, although it has been decided that her current residence is within the depths of the Brazilian jungle.
Sally O’Malley - A quick sketch of Whoville resident Sally O’Malley, the wife of Mayor Ned McDod and mother of ninety-seven children. Sally appears in Blue Sky Studios’ latest animated production, Horton Hears a Who!
Patch - Patch the puppy from Disney’s 101 Dalmatians. A reference was used for this drawing.
Saint Patrick’s Day Puppy - This composition was done for an acquaintance of mine.
“Rat”-imation - I know I mentioned this before, but I wanted to post the link to it here again since I updated it – the animation itself runs faster and smoother now.

The Star Swordsman and rachel - I’m terribly sorry that I haven’t completed the sketches you requested yet. My workload is of the hefty sort, and for this I apologize. You will receive your compositions, though, so don’t worry.

Mitch - I actually can’t view your work. I got " File Not Found" when I tried to view you first four pieces. I did manage to view your “Rat”-imation piece. That was very nicely done. Your artwork is improving. I’m impressed.
Bill - Really? Huh. That’s odd. They all seem to work perfectly for me. Server problems, perhaps? I’m not entirely sure…
Did you try selecting the link that leads to my main deviantArt page? If you are able to access that site, than you should be able to view my main gallery (which hosts all of my artwork) from there.
I’m glad that you were able to open one of the links, in any case, Bill. Thanks for the comment!
Note: If anyone has any suggestions as to how I may fix the links so that they “work” properly, I would most appreciate them. Thanks.
– Mitch
I realy like your artwork Mitch. It gets better with every new thing I see. I really like the Patch picture. Keep it up.
The Star Swordsman - Thanks, dude! I appreciate it.

You’re welcome!
Here’s your Bloo, rachel:
Tee hee. I wasn’t exactly sure what you wanted, so I just had fun with it.
To top it all off, here’s JoJo:
I swear that something’s wrong with me. As far as Horton Hears a Who! goes, I’ve been reading fan fiction, writing poems, browsing artwork, and basically involving myself in anything that deals with the subject. To make matters worse, I’ve finally realized why everyone likes JoJo, so now I’m kind of obsessed with him… but not in “that” way. I’m not a fan girl or anything. Heck, no! I just like drawing the fuzzball. Although, I have to admit that things have gotten out of hand lately… (snigger)
Speaking of which, that image of JoJo (above) is not of the highest quality. You can view a better resolution of it on my deviantArt page, or simply via this link: JoJo
I did another bit of animation, as well: Animation – Frog
The Star Swordsman - Miss Bianca is next on the list.
– Mitch
I really like bloo Mitch. You drew him really wonderfully. Keep it up!
The Star Swordsman - Aha-ha. Actually, I think it really sucks, but thanks anyway. (snigger)
– Mitch
Nothing you have sucks Mitch! We all love your artwork. I don’t think you have posted anything that we didn’t llike.
The Star Swordsman - Aw, shucks, you guys are too kind. hugs <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/love2.gif” alt=“:loves:” title="In

All of my past and present artwork can be located on my deviantArt page in my deviantArt gallery, located here:
Notice that most of my current submissions are Horton Hears a Who! related. I’ve been overly obsessed with that film as of late.

Hey Mitch! It’s great to see that you’re the most prolific artist on board. Did you make two handmade animations already?? Wow! The rat one looks smooth except it needs one or two more inbetweens between the beginning and end to make it a complete cycle.
I finally learned what it takes to animate by hand and I’m using makeshift everything until I save up. I have a lamp under a glass coffee table as a light table and a clear blue spiral to hold the drawings I flip (no peg bar). It’s hell. If both your parents are animators then you’ve got it made!
You said you scanned and loaded the drawings into Photoshop and Flash. Is that how you did clean-up animation or did you just draw precisely? How many drawings (not exposures) were required to make this and the frog one? Exactly how long did it take? If the animation is just 1 second long and you shoot 12 drawings on twos, you should have a perfectly smooth animation, or so I’m told. I’m just loaded with questions, man! I’m finally getting serious about art.
Do you have Maya? Are your parents 2-D or 3-D animators? I’ve heard that having good 2-D in your demo reel and/or portfolio skyrockets your chances of getting hired, so keep it up!
