Monsters, Inc. 2!

Ha! Great poster! Poor Mike. I can’t wait for this movie!

woody:
I don’t know for sure if this is an official poster, but it certainly looks like it could be one.

It should be an official poster!

I don’t think that this is an official poster, guys, because I’ve got a little kiddie book that was released with the original movie which has that EXACT same pose on the front, with the exception of the “2” superimposed over Mike’s face, which of course, anyone with Photoshop can do. I’ve also seen that same pic on the net, long before the sequel was announced or even strongly rumored. When Pixar or Disney releases real, official promotional posters for upcoming movies, they usually make a pretty big deal out of it to let everyone know.
Just sayin’.

Either way, it’s a pretty hilarious idea. :sunglasses:

Pitbulllady’s probably right in it’s authenticity (even I admit that I was befuddled at the start) but…
As for the joke. Yeah, it’s gotta be a running gag they should put in. Would be surprised if it didn’t come up in some sort of incarnation. Though do have to wonder what made them decide TO turn it into a running gag.

Randall’s back? Sweet, and even if this is another Wikipedia mistake, seeing Sid in Toy Story 3 has given me hope that he’ll at least have a cameo.

It’s not assured, but if Sullivan and Wazowski are on board, not too much of a longshot that Buscemi would be contacted as well. If there’s one great thing Pixar does with it’s sequels is to keep allot of the important cast.

We don’t even know who’s directing it yet, it’s a far ways away until knowning any plot details and which characters are returning.

Yeah, until we see an OFFICIAL press release from Disney or Pixar as to who will be directing, who has been cast and what the plot will entail, everything you see, read or hear about the sequel, beyond the fact that there IS one being made, is just speculation and guessing.

pitbulllady

Yes, though one can infer that if Sullivan and Wazowski are going to be in it, which is a close to 100% probability, then there is also a high probability that John and Billy will be returning, because the Toy Story sequels dictate that Pixar either gets the same voice actors, or if they are certainly unavailable at the time, to be subsituted for a very similiar, almost same voice.

No. I was agreeing with Mogwai, and saying he wasn’t stupid and didn’t need to be talked down to for not knowing stuff about Psychology. I said nothing about the film business.

No need to be such a downer, pitbulllady. Not everyone is gifted in psycology.

The poster was probably just a little mockup by Pixar, not anything serious. But if it’s coming from someone who really worked on the film, I’m accepting it as official.

I’m pointing out a FACT, whether or not everyone is “gifted in psychology” is a moot point. Not everyone knows classic cars, either, but if someone calls a '57 Bel Air a Ford, I’m gonna call 'em on that, too. That’s what I do for a living, EDUCATE people, whether they want to learn anything or not. It is just a plain fact that reacting with violence does not mean you aren’t afraid of something or that you’ve “overcome” your fear.
If Pixar DID make the poster, we’d have known about it. It’s cute and funny, but I don’t think it’s official, and I doubt it’s the last unofficial MI2 poster that we will see before the movie is actually released.

And I’m not “gifted in psychology”, myself, just educated.

pitbulllady

rubs temple That’s a little harsh. People would interpret that last bit to insult that they don’t have education themselves.

If that’s how they interpret it, they’ve got it wrong. There is a difference between being “gifted” and being “educated” and knowledgeable. I would hope most folks would know that difference. The point that both myself and Princess Darkness have been trying to make is that people shouldn’t brush off having knowledge of things like psychology or behavioral science in movies because the people who make those movies certainly don’t. We’ve discussed elsewhere the sort of attention to detail that Pixar goes through when trying to decide how a character should walk, etc., and if they go through that much trouble, they’d also try to “get inside the minds” of their characters and of the audience who will pay to see those characters. That is one of the reasons why they wind up developing characters that have such in-depth appeal. Pixar isn’t perfect; they do make mistakes, but they do at least put those applications of other sciences into what they create.

I’m not trying to be “harsh”, but I am to the point and don’t sugar-coat things.

pitbulllady

I agree. Just saying, clarify a little so people don’t take it the wrong way as an insult and instead of thinking on being insulted they think of what you were trying to point out.

And if you listen closely to her, I think she is saying something along the lines of “Rawr! …What’s wrong?” “You scared me.”

At first, when they announced the sequel, i was afraid that Pixar could ruin it , but seeing how good Toy Story 3 has been, i guess we can be calm

Exactly, Ristar. I have no worries about this film at all.
