And that monk song when
they hit their foreheads? I was tempted to do that. It drew me in. And, unfortunately, I did.
The Star Swordsman - Heh –
I almost wet my pants from laughing at that scene. I have this weird little…“thing”…where I will
laugh at almost anything that is even slightly funny. Dunno where that came from… ![]()
Okay, if you look at that scene carefully, one of the
monks actually staggers twice during the procession. Guess he couldn’t take the smacking.
Also - I can’t
believe I forgot about this - last year my hall and our brother hall paired up for a homecoming float, and we did
medieval, with as many Holy Grail touches as we could fit in, right down to the monks. When we passed the
judges’ table, we cued up the chanting from the movie and had the monks walking and smacking in time, which
almost had a few of the judges rolling on the ground. We also had peasants with coconuts and all manner of
knights - including the Black Knight and the Head Knight of Ni, who demanded shrubberies of everyone he passed on
the parade route. (So maybe it was really a Holy Grail float with general medieval touches to round everything
out.) We even took third place, though I think we could have won.
Here are just a few
pictures:

ready…[/url] you can also see a float behind us - they actually beat us out (I think they took second
place)…
KE - Looks
like you guys had a blast. Too bad you all didn’t win, though – you should have. ![]()
