Can the poll setting be changed so that guests of Pixar Planet can take part in the polls? This way we can give them a more pleasant expericne visiting the forums, so they might join sooner.
Are there any other ways to give the guests a better time here?
Even though you have got valid points A113, i’ll have to agree with PV on this one. I like to think of it as joining a club. If you want to do all of the fun stuff and participate, you gotta join first.
Pixar Planet is a forum where pixar fans can talk to other pixar fans about the movie and short films. They can also takl about other off topic ideas and other animation.
Al: Awesome. Then, why can’t we include the guests in more of it? If we give them more privileges, they will have better reason to join the cool-ness. thumbs up
Well, the problem or worry is that someone with a different agenda will come in as a guest and start doign things that will upset people. If they are a guest it will be hard to remove them whereas a user can quickly be removed.
Polls-i don’t really know about problems with polls…i guess if you want unknown people who might not have the same ideas about pixar affecting our polls it would be okay.
Should thine eyes rest upon but a corner of the internet, thou shalt unveil a treasure bestoweth only to those who seek the breadth and refuge of a social gathering hereby bequeathed with the cognomen… Pixar Planet.
The lonely traveler seeketh far and wide for this haven, knowing that whomever crosses its transverse bridge, shalt be accepted into its arms lovingly… and in a fashion of deepest understanding. It is here that one may pour out his heart – nay, even his soul – amongst his fellow brethren, knowing that humility circulates around its walls, and the saccharine taste of fandom is constantly present.
Once thou stepest upon the sands of this fortress, thou shalt experience pleasure and contentment, engage in merriment as he pleases, and generally have a heck of a good ol’ time.
Any trespassing individual is welcome to come and go as he doth wish, relax in the knowledge that he is not the only man who hast been entrapped in the hands of hearty obsession, and thereby depart with a smile painted across his profile… and satisfaction planted within his heart.
That said, I whole-heartedly agree with PixarVixen, in that in order to earn one’s “inclusion”, he (or she) must first abide by the rules… and make the choice to press the “Join” button.
Okay, i understand. I’m just suggesting that we can just let them participate in the polls, at least. Don’t you think that’d be nice? But if not, then that’s fine.
I understand you are for more participation from others outside from the members. But I like it that you have to join to participate in the activities held here at PP.
I see your point A113, but guests won’t be inclined to join if joining isn’t a massive difference from not being a member. There has to be some benefits of being a member, otherwise there’d never be any point in joining things like Pixar Planet or other websites.
Guys, you don’t seem to understand: I’m suggesting that guests should be llowed the privilege of voting in Pixar Planet polls, so that we can give them a little taste of what’s it like to be a member, but to get the real thing (such as posting, private messaging, triple yada) they’d have to join.
And Al-Bob, don’t worry so much about the 1,000 member mark. Soon, it won’t mean a thing once we get to…2,000! jk
I’ve found in my years of joining forums that posting on polls is one of the most fun things to do. If you were to just let me do the polls i don’t know if i would want to join becuase i wouldn’t feel required to post. I could just answer all the polls and feel like i’m interacting.
And I agree with making guests join first. Without a required registration, it’s only a matter of time before we’re flooded with trolls! o.O
A113 makes a valid point. But still, if guests really want to take the time and effort to read through the boards and they actually want to vote in a poll, then it’s not such a huge thing to ask for them to register to do so.
