Most overrated films of all time

2014 and 2015 for the new Avatar sequels? :open_mouth: Do we now how long the first one took to make?

Yes, but the sequels won’t have the same problem. Now he has the technology.

Shame he wont spend time trying to write a worthy script

YES, and the film is gonna be in Pandora’s Ocean

First Pocahontas, now The Little Mermaid. James Cameron sure is inventive

What’s the deal with all this Avatar hate? He made Titanic, and despite that I haven’t seen much of it, i liked it, and I’ve been liking James Cameron’s work ever since. Original Story, good plotline in some aspects, and of course, that stellar visual rollercoaster we were all riding made it stand out quite well amongst the other movies during that era.

I don’t hate Avatar. I just think it’s extremely overrated.

Unlike you, I didn’t find the story original at all, or the plotline good. And I’ve seen visual roller coasters that have achieved a better feeling in me and weren’t nearly so expensive.

Personally, I despise Titanic. A movie like that is in no way excusable for me. I hate it. But I personally like Avatar. It would just be nice for those of us who don’t hate Avatar if the sequel had a good plot.

I, in the other hand, think the opposite.

Titanic seems like a very complete movie in my book. Avatar lacks of a lot of things.

What do you mean with “a movie like that”, IV?

A romance. I hate romantic dramas and comedys. :shake: Honestly, though, there wasn’t a thing in Titanic I enjoyed.

Well, I don’t like romances either. But that doesn’t mean they’re all bad films.

In fact, I could name you a few romance films I love. Me! A loveless person!

What about the animated Titanic’s?

You’ll love someday

That’s not true. Not everyone feels like that. I don’t know if SoA is asexual, but I am probably asexual and I know others who are.

lolol, i actually feel the reverse. i totally respect your opinion, though, iv.

tbh i actually love titanic too much
and yet i’m aware it’s not that great of a film. i know the dialogue is frequently awful and the romance is corny. and honestly, the whole time i was expecting billy zane to start twirling a mustache or laughing maniacally.

but i do love it. idk why. i don’t cry when jack dies (i love how she’s like, “jack, i’ll never let go!” and then she pushes him off the board to become fish food, lol) but the sinking scenes absolutely kill me. i think those are the moments when the film really does shine.

that being said, i do agree it’s overrated.

You’re right about that not being for everything. But some asexuals can still fall in love. They just don’t feel the need to consummate it, just keep it on a platonic level.

You’re right. Those are the moments I love.

I know there are plenty of good ones. But the only ones I personally like at all are Casablanca and The Wedding Singer. Completely different movies. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not going to call Titanic overrated, but I feel that the movie didn’t strike me as much as it did for everyone else around the world.

Same here it did not hit home with me like it did with most people so Titanic is a movie I would not watch again but i will not call it overrated.

My dad hates Titanic, my mom loves it, and I actually re-watched it a few days ago. I’m still not crazy about it, but I don’t hate it. It is overrated, though.

I know people are going to hate me and i am not defending Titanic since i do not like the movie anyway
But if we can call Titanic overrated then we can call Toy Story 3 Overrated and i say that with tons of pain in my heart since the toy story movies are my favorite of all time! :frowning:
