Movies - both new and old

Rob Thomas is one of my favorite artists. And that song he sings at the end, “Little Wonders”, is a really nice song. I love it. And I think the reason that the movie is underappreciated is because when you say Disney, people like to compare Disney movies to the brilliance of their golden age of animation or the crappy live-action movies featuring celebrities for their actors. This movie is not one that can match the golden age of Disney, nor is it as good as Tangled or even
The Princess and the Frog, but it is not a bad movie at all.

I agree. Personally, and nobody take this the wrong way, but I do not like PATF. I just can’t enjoy it. I mean, it was the darn return to classic Disney animation, and…well, I liked Dinosaur and Atlantis better. And Dinosaur is not great.

But, anyway, MTR is no Aladdin or Little Mermaid, but I think it’s very good if you give it a chance.

Agreed.

Troop Beverly Hills: B: This movie was okay. It was a little boring, and kind of cheesy, but I liked it. I’ll admit, though, that I only watched it because Craig T. Nelson was listed as an actor. 8D

I just watched one of the Land Before Time movies. I watched the first one, and the third one. Those two movies were my favorites of all of the Land Before Time movies. Everything else, I thought was just okay.

I hate movies with more than 2 sequels. :shake:

You hate Star Wars?

I hate the prequels. I love the first three, particularly The Empire Strikes Back. However, I consider SW to bee two series, and disregard the prequels entirely.

Would you believe me if I told you I have never seen a full movie of Star Wars? :unamused:

Why? You should, whenever you have time. Again, I hate the prequels, but it’s probably best to see all of them.

I have never been a Star Wars fan. Execpt for the light saber battles, I’ve never been into the sci-fi space age stuff. People try their hardest to make me watch them all.

I (usually) try to watch something before I decide if it’s my thing or not. I remember when The Incredibles came out… my gosh. My grandmother rented, and she had to say “the Toy Story people made it!” to get me to watch it. 8D And, it was my new favorite movie for 6 years, now tied with TS2. :stuck_out_tongue: I’m not a huge SW fan, but I enjoy it. More than Harry Potter, anyway. :unamused:

I guess the only exception would be Batman, but technically there are three seperate franchises, and two of them are schlock.

I assume you mean all except the Nolan franchise? Personally love Batman (1989 and 1966) and Batman Returns (?). But I’m just a huge Batman fan, so it’s my bad. 8D

With all due respect, how on earth is the 1966 version likeable? Personally, I thought it was beyond the realm of cheesy to like or have any positive things to do with it.

I love that song! I used to try to get it stuck in my head on purpose so I could stop feeling nervous or stressed.

Really? Something replaced The Incredibles in your heart? Just kidding - I don’t think you were counting Pixar movies.
And I agree - Meet the Robinsons wasn’t the most amazing, but I don’t think it was meant to be compared to the stuff of Disney Renaissance anyway. It’s a feel-good, funny, bright movie with lots of nice imagination.

I just watched Megamind.

Dude, it was amazing! :astonished: At first, judging by the trailers, I wasn’t interested and thought it looked a bit cheesy and uncreative. But last night I was feeling like watching a movie just for laughs and hving a what-the-heck moment, just gave it a chance.

And I was blown away.

The story’s a lot more intriguing than the trailer led me to believe - and the characters are way more layered than I expected. It’s also interesting to think about - if the supervillain wins, what will he do then? Instead of the black-and-white wannabe bad guy vs. full-of-himself good guy thing it looked like at first, it showed what leads someone to become evil, and what evil truly is, which is a pretty mature message to deliver in a family animated movie and I love it. All while still being witty and funny throughout. I was definitely astonished at how good this movie was, and will definitely want to see it again and again.

So, in short, I watched it expecting to laugh… and, yes, I laughed but also got so much more out of it. A real treat to watch.

I’m glad you liked it! It is a fun movie to watch.

I am glad you liked Megamind as well. It is one of my favorite DreamWorks movies.

Pixarinho*: Well, it wasn’t great, but I like cheesy stuff sometimes. 8D

BDD: I know, right? I seriously think people are way too hard on MTR.

I’m watching The Hangover right now, I never get sick of this movie!
