Movies - both new and old

Oooo! It’s a Wonderful Life is my favorite Capra film! I like Mr. Smith Goes to Washington too.

B&W films I own? I have a Felix the Cat DVD, Betty Boop DVD set, A Shirley Temple DVD set, Marx Brothers DVD set, and Buster Keaton DVD set.

So all together 26 features and 65 shorts.

I like the brownish look in the start and end of Wizard of Oz.

I’m super interested in seeing this now. I wonder if I can convince my sister to take me someday, maybe after Tintin. (She works at a theater)

The Muppets- A
This was so funny! I really enjoyed it. They had good jokes and great musical numbers. I’ve never really seen anything related to the Muppets before this, but I really liked it. I actually came close to laughing otu loud in the theater (I don’t laugh out loud easily).
I think it’s worth a rental in the future.

Glad to hear it. Wait, so you can go to the movies for free?

Oh man, the music was great! Done by Flight of the Conchord’s Bret McKenzie, by the way. And I agree, it was a great theatre experience, I couldn’t stop laughing either!

I haven’t seen The Muppets yet but I thought the music was great since I listened to the soundtrack.

I thought the music for The Muppets was good enough. Nothing I’ve gone out of my way to listen to since seeing it, but one of the better musicals to come out in recent years.

As for B&W movies I own, I have Raging Bull, The 400 Blows, The Bicycle Thieves, Breathless, The Burmese Harp, The Cranes Are Flying, Late Spring, Onibaba, The Passion of Joan of Arc, Il Posto, Seven Samurai, Tokyo Story, Umberto D., Wild Strawberries, an Ed Wood box set, and a Hitchcock set from the $5 Walmart bin. About half are blu-rays. There are more B&W/old movies I want, mainly Hollywood stuff and Hitchcock movies, but they’re harder to find, so I’d have to buy them from Amazon.

Has anyone seen Plan 9 from Outer Space. I read it’s the worst movie ever made.

Yes, it’s part of my Ed Wood box set. It really isn’t a very good movie.

It dosn’t look good.

Oh, she can, but I can’t. But with her frequenting the theater as her workplace, it’s more likely that I’ll get to go to the movies now. There are several movies I want to see right now, honestly. Puss in Boots, Tintin, The Artist, Arthur Christmas, The Muppets…

I’d reccomend all of those movies! Except Arthur Christmas. Because I haven’t seen it.

I hear Arthur Christmas is supposed to be good. It’s not making too much here since Aardman films never catch on in America. Of course, with the exception of Chicken Run.

Clearly not enough fart jokes and pop culture references. ;-o It’s a shame, really, although I’ve known few people my age who didn’t grow up with the “Wallace and Gromit” shorts.

I’ve seen a couple of those and I enjoyed them. The movie will always be one of my favorite animated films along with Chicken Run.

I remember when I was little this Wallace and Gromit where they were out of cheese so they went to the moon to get some because it’s made out of cheese. 8D

I think it was on Cartoon Network.

I should rewatch the show one of these days. Maybe YT has some episodes posted somewhere on the site.

Yes, they were often aired on Cartoon Network. There’s also a recent one that I bought on DVD, and it’s not bad. My favorite, though, will forever be “The Wrong Trousers.” A penguin wears a rubber glove on his head to resemble a chicken—tee hee! 8D

What’s the longest movie you guys have seen?

That honor would have to go to Avatar.

Glory: Great film about the Civil War. Aside from it being a little too racist at times in the film, it was great. Loved the performances by Matthew Broderick and Denzel Washington. A
