Movies - both new and old

Well, the voices sounded kinda annoying to me. I felt that the film had its dragging moments. There were some concepts that I didn’t really like (like how people got morbidly fat and the axiom. And probably the biggest reason, I just love the other Pixar films better.

like what? What films could possibly be better than WALL-E?

I loved the hell out of this movie! This is definitely my favorite animated film of all time!!! And the message about over-technologization was perfectly toned and great! I loved it soooooooooo much! Definitely two waffles!!! I’m amazed that you didn’t like this. It was art. Finally, a CG film that can be defined as ART!

Anyway, I’m predicting by the early reviews that The Dark Knight will be at least a three-quarter waffle or a full waffle. I’m seein’ it TOMORROW!!!

TS2: Well, in my opinion, I thought all other Pixar movies outrank WALL-E. And remember, this is just my opinoin. Please don’t go biting my head off just because I was sharing my honest opinion.

And if you want to know what other films I like more than WALL-E, look at everything else above the 1/4 waffle list.

I understand that you loved the movie. You love it more than me. You feel stongly about that movie. And well, I feel strongly about the Incredibles. It will always be the number one movie on my list.

I can see how TI is your fav, but on my two waffles list, there are 14 films:

“There Will Be Blood”

“A.I.: Artificial Intelligence”

“Forrest Gump”

“Spiderman 2”

“WALL-E”

“Stranger Than Fiction”

“Ratatouille”

“North By Northwest”

“The Darjeeling Limited”

“Little Miss Sunshine”

“Juno”

“The Nightmare Before Christmas”

“Metropolis” (1930 silent movie that is genius)

“State Fair”

Yes, I may be more choosy and artsy with my films, but that’s just how I am because St. Louis introduced me to the Independent Film industry (we have the second biggest I.F. industry in the U.S. right under L.A.)

But those are my all-time favorites and I will defend these fourteen films no matter what. Those are all my two waffles.

Waffles are delicious! I love your rating system, TS2

I have five movies that deserve two homestyle waffles with blueberry syrup from Denny’s.

1. Ratatouille (… duh…)
2. WALL-E (I absolutely adored this brilliant film…)
3. Juno (I haven’t laughed so hard in forever. What I expected to be another raunchy Superbad-esque teenage pregnancy film was actually one of the smartest comedies and most amazing stories every created!)
4. RENT (Amazing music, great story. I love it!)
5. O Brother, Where Art Thou (Absolutely hilarious, extremely smart comedy, George Clooney at his best )

I guess I’ll rattle off examples of the rest:

Full Waffle (Epic movies, but not as rewatchable and touching as the two wafflers): LotR (all three), Sixth Sense, Casablanca

3/4 Waffle (Dependable pick-me-up flicks): Cars, Spirited Away, The Matrix (the first one)

1/2 Waffle (Watchable… but not my first choice): The Parent Trap, School of Rock

1/4 Waffle (I’d rather not…): Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, National Treasure (one and two)

Crumbs (Nope, not watching): The Simpsons Movie

No movie deserves No Waffles, if only because, as the philosopher Antonius Ego said, the average piece of junk probably is worth more than and harsh criticism designating it so.

TS2- TSS, just like everyone else, has the right to an opinion. I loved WALL-E to bits, and the only reason I rank Toy Story and Monsters, Inc. higher is just out of sentimental reasons. But I completely respect that TSS did not enjoy it as much as other Pixar films- why should he enjoy a film just because others like it?

Pixelated- Don’t get me started on Juno. I respect that you enjoyed it, but to me it basically said, ‘hey, don’t worry teenage girls! You can have a baby at a ridiculously young age, it doesn’t matter- just give it away and everything will be peachy dandy!’ :stuck_out_tongue: But a lot of my friends enjoyed it.

I saw adverts for both ‘Chimps in Space’ (is that what it’s called?) and some other animated movie involving space…They both look excruciating. I love how the second WALL-E comes out, all the other movie studios try and jump on the bandwagon, yet they always fail. Miserably.

What does look good is Igor! I was so happy to hear Steve Buscemi’s voice in the trailer, and it does actually look like a decent animated film. I’ll pretty sure I’ll see it when it comes out.

I can see that, lizardgirl, but I loved “Juno” becuase it had great acting and a fun style. Also, the story doen’t really say that to girls in my opinion. It’s saying, find someone you love, but don’t you see the mistakes these two made? Yeah, um, DON’T MAKE THEM! Anyway, I thought WALL-E was great because it was great. For me, there were truly no problems at all with that movie. I can’t wait for tonight!!! I’m gonna see “The Dark Knight”!!! My prediction: Full Waffle. Maybe two.

lizardgirl: hey, thanks for that. I feel better now.

no, TSS. I’m not mad at you. I just can’t truly believe that you didn’t like WALL-E at all. I’m sorry.

Don’t worry about it. You are forgive.

ANd to sum up my opinion of WALL-E, I use a baseball anoalogy: Pixar hit one out o the ballpark with WALL-E, just not my ballpark.

o.k. For me, they added tons of syrup to a crispy, big, golden-brown waffle with WALL-E and EVE-shaped dimples.

That’s cute.

NOOOOOOOO!!! I went to the theatre, and all “The Dark Knight” showings were sold out!!!

TOMORROW, BABY!!!

I hope to see it some time the next coming week. I heard my friends say it was amazing.

That’s exactly why I’m not even going to try and see it on opening night- it’s going to be sold out just like that.

Tried catching the Dark Knight, but all the cinemas were sold out. It’s all hype here. The only movies they’re showing right now at these cinemas are “The Dark Knight” and “Mamma Mia”. And “Mamma Mia” only got one screen room while “Dark Knight” took the rest, ha.

Hope that Dark Knight will amaze me just as much as Wall-E did. Getting really sick of the “explosive” non-animated movies that have been coming out since May.

Two Waffles
-Wall-E (The message of “meant to live for so much more” just clicked with me)
-Metropolis
-Terminator 2

Full Waffle
-E.T
-SAW IV (omg, yes something is wrong with me right now )

That’s all I can think of right now. I’ll scan my DVD case and see if I can re-call if any of them were good.

well, I’m going down to the least popular mall in my area tonight and there’s a small theater there, so I’m gonna see it there with a group of friends.

I know it won’t be sold out because it’s the least popular mall in our area and we’re buying tickets early in the day.

The movie theatre was packed today. Everyone wanted to see Dark Knight. I saw Kung Fu Panda. So far, it is my favorite Dreamwork Animation work.

In case anyone’s interested, here are the opening weekend numbers for The Dark Knight :

I myself saw the film twice on opening weekend (opening day, and Saturday), and I must say that this film lives up to all the acclaim that it’s been receiving. I find it to be an absolute masterpiece. I have to give props to Chistopher ‘Chris’ Nolan for the direction/screenplay as well as his brother Jonathan. Of course, I reserve most of the acclaim to Heath Ledger for his amazing portrayal of the Joker. He completely disappeared into the role, and, like David Denby, I say that his performace of the character is sinister and frightening, and conclude that he is mesmerising in every scene.

Yeah, I’ve heard the Dark Knight has been blowing up the Box Office- and rightly so, by the sounds of things! I didn’t realise it was so long, though, but I guess that means more Heath Ledger to watch.
