My letter to Pete Docter

EDIT: I’ve decided to take down my letter, for personal reasons, and I’m pretty sure almost everyone’s read it by now. I wanted to show you guys how I felt about the movie.

However, I will share with you all the other things I sent along with my letter, mostly being photos.

If you notice in the first 2 photos, I’m holding a balloon separately. It’s hard to catch, but [spoil]I’ve written “Spirit of Adventure” on the side to mimic Carl’s balloon in his childhood.[/spoil] I sent that balloon as well (deflated obviously)

And all snugly fit inside this nifty little envelope

A bit of advice: His last name is spelled Docter.

Bah good call. that’d be embarrassing.

Nice well-written letter, for the first time in a long time, I kind of got choked up reading it, Pete will probably love it.

Hehe, thanks Buzz, glad I could share. I was thinking about writing this by hand, but my mom thinks I should just print it. I do have pretty shotty handwriting, so it’d probably bet a better idea to just send it typed out.

Very nice letter. :sunglasses: I am sure that he is going to love it.

I am going to see UP for the first time this Saturday with my pal Johnny T. Looks like I’m in for a wonderful expeirience like you have had.

Brilliant. That will certainly get through your love of Up! He HAS to write back personally!

Thanks 1986, PixarPixie, I’m hoping to get this proofread by a few of my friends who are good at this kinda stuff, kinda get it cleaned up. This is one of the most substantial things I’ve written, so I’m glad I could express so much of what I feel in it. I wanted to write something that really makes him understand how strongly I feel about this movie, and get some sort of response from him.

Hehe, Up really does bring the best out of me.

That’s such a sweet letter, ffdude1906, and I’m sure Pete Docter will love it. You manage to convey your feelings about Up really well and it’s obvious how touched you have been by the film. Oh, and good idea to get it proof-read. I haven’t noticed any obvious errors, though there really should be a comma in Monsters, Inc. instead of an apostrophe. But I’m very nitpicky about that title.

I hope you get a personalised reply!

Thanks lizardgirl, and I welcome your correction, nothing wrong with helping me improve my letter!

A friend of mine who works very well with grammar and writes some really amazing papers went over this last night and helped me clean it up. I edited my first post, it’s the 2nd draft now. I think it’s pretty much perfect now. I just need to get the rest of the stuff together and send it! I’ll probably take the first post down once I send it, in case someone from Pixar manages to stumble onto this thread and spot it. That would be a bit irritating. :\

Thanks again guys!

A wonderfully written letter ffdude1906! Your passion and enthusiasm for the film is very much present throughout the whole letter and I think Pete Docter will enjoy reading it! I like to think that such a personal letter will result in a personal response from Pete Docter.

Awesome news. I’ve got everything together, all that’s left is to finish this drawing of Carl’s house I’m putting on the manila envelope I’m sending it in. I called and asked Pixar themselves (you HAVE to check out their electronic answerer, it’s the BOMB!), and they said it’d be ok for me to send it in a manila envelope, and said I could even have it written towards Pete on the envelope. AAAAAAH!!! I’m so excited!!! I’ll be sure to post the picture when I finish it.

EDIT:It’s done, but it was a bit rushed. I’ll post it on my dA later tonight, I have work in,… CRAP, I’m late!

It was fun talking with you as you called Pixar. “You’re a sad, strange littler caller. You have my pity.” I’m glad you have everything ready to be send out! Can’t wait to see the drawing.

Well, hold up. I got back from work, and talked to my mom a bit. She spotted the envelope (which looks pretty schnazzy, in my opinon) and said she had some ideas about what to do, she’s gonna tell me about them tomorrow morning. I’ll still probably end up shipping it tomorrow.

Also, I’m most likely doing overnight shipping, and DEFINITELY delivery confirmation. This is so awesome. I really hope he gets a hold of it soon!

Alright! Time to send this puppy! To the post office! AWAY!!

EDIT: Back! I’m so nervous! I paid almost 18 bucks for overnight, but it’s definitely worth it! :smiley:DDDD

Pardon me for the double post, but,…
