Hi, I’m planning to create my own pixar fanpage? Do I need some kind of license or is it enough to state that every image shown is copyright to Pixar Animation Studios?
I think you can just say the images are from Pixar, but I’m not 100% sure.
As I am taking a Web Design class, i can help a little with this. To follow copyright rules to the letter, you should say that they are copyright Pixar, but you may also need to source where you got the pics from. If they came from a book/print article, you should source that, from another site, source that. In some cases you may need permission to use it, so if you’re really unsure, I would check first.
Well I run a site dedicated to a film/play, and I just state it’s not my own, and it’s obvious enough. I should really put a copyright notice on mine … haven’t been arrested yet, lol! Just don’t claim to have made anything and you shall be fine. Also state that it’s a fan site, and what others like to say ‘officially unofficial’.
