I hate Myspace, but I have one, and although my own Facebook has become a freakin’ free-for-all, I’d rather if you’re on these boards that you just add me through Myspace. Why? Because Facebook still is stalker central regardless and I don’t want the people who dislike me to know each and every move I make. Not cool.
I’m rarely on Myspace 'cept to add a little something-something anyway. Or accept requests / answer comments.
So, if you got one, add me! I won’t stalk you, honest - I spend more time staring at my own Myspace page than looking at others’ pages. Sad, yes.
This is also a better chance to get to know people better.
I’m a Facebook gal, me. I’ve got a Myspace, but it all looks so unorganised and untidy. Who had the annoying idea of everyone being able to have their own background? I’m all for customisable stuff, but it burns my eyes! Plus, all of my friends are on Facebook, and it’s a good place to share photos and catch up with people you haven’t seen for ages.
I’ve never been a fan of MySpace, period. The reason is simple - it’s a bonanza for any internet predator who’s looking to making innocent teenagers into sexual slaves. Teens end up ruining their lives to some degree. Why anyone puts their personal information up there in the first place is beyond me.
Sorry I ever started this thread. I never liked Myspace to begin with - I just have it so that I can keep in contact with the friends that refuse to get a Facebook.
And I don’t like Facebook anymore because since I joined the Disney College Program, everyone’s been adding people who are going there and I haven’t really gotten to know anyone, so it’s become public to complete strangers, basically.
That, and Facebook gives you notifications on what your friends do even if you don’t care to know, so basically you’re stalking without ever wanting to, since it shows up on the mini-feed.
I have a Myspace page. Here’s the link, but first… please don’t ask to be a friend because I won’t accept and it’s set on private so you can’t see the actual page. But you could see a picture of me (I’ve lost some weight since the picture and my hair is usually longer).
I never liked Myspace. I too am a Facebook gal. Although, FONY, I understand why you don’t like Facebook. You do basically stalk without meaning to! You can change some privacy settings and whatnot to minimize it a bit… at least on your end. If it wasn’t for the fact that it is nice to keep in contact with friends, I’d have dropped it long ago!
Well, the thing about the Internet is it connects people together, for better or worse. So it means old school friends can find you and what you are up to, but so can people who want to stalk you. I used to have a MySpace, but got a bit sick of it and people using bulletins to brag about themselves. If people want to contact me they can ring me or write me a letter etc. I did sign up for a Facebook account recently, but I don’t think I’ll become a regular user because, like FONY said, I don’t like how everyone can see your every action on Facebook. Also, the displayed narcissism of people, especially people you went to school with, gets on my nerves.
I’m a Facebook addict as well. I’m on it all the time…way too much for my own good! And I’ve gotten in contact w/ friends from like elementary school & high school, which is kind of cool in its own right. I don’t get stalked much because both my MS and FB profiles are like on lockdown. Sometimes my own friends can’t find me on there, lol! As for all those notifications and updates, I think that you can set it so you don’t have to see them (or at least not get them on your email all the time - I set mine so I only get notifications if someone friend requests me or writes on my wall.)
I’m not a myspace person, I have one but I never ever check it! It’s all about facebook for me, and twitter.
If anyone here has a twitter or facebook, feel free to message me and we can be friends on there. I perfer if you’d want to follow me on twitter, instead of facebook, but either way is fine!
