Name that Inanimate Object

'Ello again.

My sister

and I, being the crazy people that we are, often get bored. And due to the fact that we get bored rather

easily…we begin to find ways of entertaining ourselves. One thing we did was to name a few of the inanimate

objects in our household. Why? Because we could, that’s why. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well…I decided to see if anyone else

does this as well. Do you name your cars? Your toaster? Your computer(s)? Yes, it is kind of a weird question,

but hey: this is the “off-topic” section. (snigger)

Here is the tally concerning the number of

objects that my sister and I have named:

Family computer - Qwerty

Family room couch - Potato
Toilets - Frank and

John
Cars - Honda Civic: Mary. Dad’s Honda: Tanya. Mom’s truck:

Jack.
Family room TV - Tasha
Toaster - I think

it’s Tom or…something…
Vacuum Cleaner - Kurby

I know that I named

the microwave too, although…I forgot what I named it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Let’s see if I’m the only crazy one around

here… (snigger)

Mitch: I like how you named your

computer Qwerty. Did you get that name from Veggietales?

JV - Hee hee – yep! I love VeggieTales, so I just had

to name one of our computers “Qwerty”.

Our first computer (the one that “blew up” a

few years ago) was named Qwerty. The new one that we have now is Qwerty 2K3. I like the older one better… :frowning:

(snigger)

Off topic: Have you seen the new veggietales show Gideon: tuba warrior yet

Mitch?

JV (off-topic) - Nope

– but I will!

On-Topic:

Does anyone else here name objects

around their house? Or am I the only one?

I don’t. I’m a normal person.

thinks All I’ve ever named is my telescope, Etrix, because she is my baby. Apart from that,

nope.

The Star Swordsman -

Haha – you’re one of the many! My sister and I are a species unto ourselves.

lizardgirl - Cool – I like the name of your telescope.

My car is the only thing that has a name right now: The Mid-Sized Sedan of

Justicemobile Mark V. Members who have been with us a long time will remember that one. Before that, I referred

to the Aerostar van I used to drive as the Ford Battlecruiser (because I got into an accident with it, and it

only got dented a little bit).

I tried naming a few other things, like my mp3 player, but they never

seemed to stick.

KE - Wow – your cars have very elongated names. I like the name of the second one:

“Battlecruiser”. (snigger)

I

named my violin Betoven ( that is So spelled wrong ! )

that’s pretty much it .

I’ve named things but I usually forget what I’ve named

them…lol one day my brother and I got so bored we started naming things in the kitchen after characters in

Star Wars  My friend and i at like…3 in the morning took stick it notes and labeled everything in her

kitchen…the oven was mustafar the freezer was hoth, we stuck a yoda toy in a plant and called it degobah…I

drew the millenium falcon and she stuck it to her ceiling fan and then turned it on…the whole kitchen ended up

covered in notes so no i really don’t think your that weird

I… named my flute Yammie.
And… I’ve named all my

stuffed animals.
Though I couldn’t tell you what they are.

Mitch: Yeah, well the whole “Mid-sized Sedan” bit goes

a long way back… and the van was a big car, and therefore needed a big name. You don’t get much bigger than a

battlecruiser.

I’ve named most of my stuffed animals, too… for instance, the teddy bear sitting next to

me right now is named Babaganoosh, or Bob for short. The bear used to just be named Bob, but I hated thinking of

those stupid Enzyte commercials every time I talked about Bob my bear. There is a show called MXC, which, for

those who have never seen it, takes footage from an old Japanese game show and redubs it into English (with

absolutely no connection whatsoever to the original material). Every episode has a character named Babaganoosh in

it. So I changed the bear’s name to Babaganoosh after the show, and I can still call him Bob. Besides, Bob is

such a common name, but Babaganoosh is fun and different.

I should name my laptop, but I don’t know what

to call it… it needs to be something quirky…

KE - Ha – oh, I absolutely

love MXC! I used to watch it all the time – it used to air on Spike

tv. Come to think of it, I think it still does… “Right you are, Ken.”

And as for your laptop: Why don’t you name it ‘Quirky’?

I may

as well post the names of my many stuffed animals:

Bunky Bear - I’ve had

this guy since I was two. He is a polor bear, and is as worn out as a wet rag from the many kisses he used to get

back in the old days. (snigger)

Figaro - When I was around six or eight, I

saw this little black and white stuffed kitty way up on top of a shelf with a hundred other cats of the same

color. I immediately felt a bond between me and that cat – I had to have it. I’ve had him for about twelve or

so years now, and will never give him away for all the money in the world.

Silver - A small silver and white kitten that I have owned for…ohh…I

dunno – ten or so years? For some reason, I always manage to lose her every once in a

while…

Merry - The mouse’s name is Merry, but I call her

“Pippin”. She looks like Pippin, for some reason. Heheh.

Tom

Kitten - Oh gosh, I don’t know how long I’ve had this little thing. He is packed away in a box

somewhere. Tom is a diminuative toy kitten that I have had for many years now. He used to make this cute

“meowing” sound…until his voice box went dead. (heh)

I literally have tens of hundreds of

other plush toys, but I will not name them all here.

My iPod’s name is Popo.

:stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not sure if you would call it a name, but:

TV: Tube
Xbox: Box
Computer:

Comp

Just nicknames, not actuall name, Will it count?

This is great! Keep them comin’!

Aggie - Hee

hee – I love that!

The Star Swordsman - Oh yeah, it counts.

Thanks Mitch. Other than that, I don’t name any

stuff around the house anything. I have yet to hear my friends call my room Incredibles

Central.

The

Star Swordsman - You’re welcome.

Heheh – “Incredibles Central”. Isn’t yours

called “The Incredi-shrine” or something? Maybe I am thinking of someone else’s room…
