Nature/Science documentaries

Nerd alert…nerd alert.

Anyone got any favourite nature or science shows? Presenters? Commentors etc.?

I’m a big fan of David Attenboroughs work. His version is the original and best version of 'BBCs ‘Planet Earth’ for instance.

I also tend to really ike documantaries about apes. Right now as I type I’m watching ‘Mountain Gorilla’ on BBC 2.

I typicallyprefer nature documentaries but talk about other science documentaries too![/i]

Yeah I really loved watching Life on the Discovery Channel.

I’ll watch anything if David Attenborough is narrating it. And I’m also watching Mountain Gorilla at the moment, mentalguru! Amazing series.

I love documentaries about animals! They are a lot of fun to watch.

I also like science specials about shows from outer space. They completely blow my mind!

I’ve always loved science, and I always will. I watch a lot of Nat Geo, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, Science Channel. I’m a nerd I guess!

My favorite science shows to watch are about the universe. I’ve loved astronomy as long as I can remember. (In middle school, I wanted to become an astronaut and be the first person to set foot on Mars!) This explains why WALL-E is my favorite Pixar movie!

Anyway, back to subject. I love the documenteries 'The Planets" and “The Universe”. I actually have two programs in my DVR regarding the planet Mars (my favorite of all planets)

Sir David Attenborough is my hero. I think I joked about him once here that he is capable of teleporting himself to the most remote places on Earth at will (Seriously, just watch his docos and how he effortlessly turns up in a different continent in every scene!).

Any SDA doco is guaranteed goodness. I’ve watched a few intermittent episodes of Life of Mammals, Planet Earth and Life. His narration is the most calming voice next to Morgan Freeman.

I want to get this Blu-Ray for christmas:

I have read a couple of good reviews on all of the series included in this omnibus and watched an episode or two from Galapagos and Yellowstone, and they’re incredible, so I really want to own this (my Dell Studio is capable of playing Blu-Ray, so I can’t wait to see 'em in all their majesty in High-Def).

I also want to watch The Blue Planet and South Pacific. No one makes docos better than the BBC.

Some of my favourite non-fiction shows are Mythbusters, Globetrekker and Dirty Jobs. Some of my childhood faves are Bill Nye the Science Guy and The Magic School Bus.

As you can tell, I’m a huge Science geek.

I really like the Walking with Monsters series, narrarated by Kenneth Branagh.
