Netbug's Story Puppies

Like fan fics, only smaller! Bite sized!

This is the only one I have so far, actually. Just some lightningsally fluff. The ff.net folks seemed to like it (but there are days I wonder if that is really saying much with the mix of talent levels there. It’s te ultimate grab bag. XD)

Cars
A Heavy Word
G for fluffiness and cheesyness. XD
LightningSally pairing.

It made him sweat.

It was one thing to be going out with somebody. It was one thing to enjoy spending time with them and being close to them.

But, loving them was a totally new thing for him.

He knew it, but saying it was the hard part. Love was more than just a casual thing. It was a heavy word, only to be used with care and commitment. But, at the same time, it was something you couldn’t hold in when you felt it.

“Sally?”

She turned to him, and he gulped. It was a strange feeling. He knew she liked him, and he felt the same way, well, sort of. He didn’t just like her anymore, and that was the hard part.

“Um…” He put on a smile and blurted it out. “I love you, you know.”

That was it. It was just 3 small words, yet from the look on Sally’s face, they meant more than anything to her. She smiled at him. “I love you too Stickers.” She gave him a kiss on the cheek and drove off happily.

It made him smile.

I like it! And that joke you made was funny!

Triple funny!

WARNINGWARNINGWARNING: This story and the author’s notes before it contain spoilers for WALL-E! If you have not seen the movie yet, do not read any farther into this post! D: Spoilers will be marked in the author’s notes, but not in the fic, so please go! Don’t spoil such a wonderful movie for yourself! DD:

…That was a bit over dramatic, but hey, this movie is just too great to spoil anything about. Man, I’m glad to finally break this out. I feel like [spoil]EVE after being couped in her pod on the way down to Earth. Time to fly! [/spoil]

So, this was actually written before the movie came out, but with the mix of theories and previews I had seen and misc knowledge, figuring out how to put a spoiler warning was complicated. Simply saying “spoilers for the movie” is much easier.

But, a lot of this is based on theory. From what I had learned about EVE from trailers/tv spots/etc, I made some theories about her character. I guess that she was a kinda cynical character who just wanted to do her job. Then I wrote this situation to promote that theory character. In many ways, I was right, though she came out a bit nicer in the movie than how I wrote her in this. So please, excuse the slight OOC of this first fic. I hope you’ll still enjoy.

Her Thorn

She couldn’t beleive this. She just couldn’t.

Why and how had WALL-E followed her here? She could hear track following behind her as she floated through the halls of the Axiom. She desperately wanted to go debrief, and she had to soon, but what would the humans say if she came in with an Earth class robot trailing behind? She was ready to pull a plasma gun on him if this kept up much longer. Nice bot or not, he was getting in the way of her job, and she couldn’t stand it.

But for once in her life, EVE decided that plasma was not the best way to solve the problem. Instead, she sped up, flying through the halls until the track noises were gone. She looked back just in case, and sighed in relief, using her map programming to keep her from now being hopelessly lost.

But as she floated down the corridor, she found herself even more annoyed than before. It was just… too quiet.

She stopped moving. Her expression grew even more irritated. Oh, great, she was now officially used to having him around.

She headed back and hoped he hadn’t gotten himself killed.

Nice one, Netbug!

Lightning/Sally made me melt, it was that great!

The Eve puppy seemed a bit OOC, [spoil]but the end just showed her awesome character arc. [/spoil] Good job for “based on theory.”

Can’t wait for more!

Okay, not exactly a puppy, but still a one shot, so I’m putting it in this thread. It’s my thread and I’ll post longer one shots if I want. XD

ANOTHER WALL-E SPOILER WARNING. SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

So, this took me a few days. It’s for the contest over at DeviantART. This was a real challenge. Writing WALL-E in a situation like this is INCREDIBLY hard. Hopefully, I still did a good job. I’m proud of it. ^^

WALL-E/EVE

The first fight; every couple has it. It doesn’t matter how in love the two are or how well they click. At some point in their lives together, they are going to argue. M-O had heard that a little bit of this was a sign of a relationship being healthy and balanced.

But this seemed to go beyond the healthy mark.

He had come by WALL-E’s truck at the worst possible time, right when the fight had started. He had no idea what they were fighting about, their exchange being one that only the other member of the relationship could even attempt to understand. Both of them looked angry, so the cleaning bot got out of there as fast as he could. Heck, EVE angry alone was enough to make any half-sane bot aside from WALL-E get a good mile or two away as soon as possible (though M-O wondered if WALL-E had any sanity when it involved EVE. Usually, the garbage bot probably would have jumped off a cliff if it would make her smile.)

The sun had risen and set 3 times since M-O’s close encounter with a quasar ion canon, and nobody had seen the two heroes even look at one another the whole time. Of course, nobody was forcing WALL-E and EVE to have such a bad attitude towards one another, but neither of them seemed happy about the situation. Neither robot’s eyes had gone into happy slits for 3 days either. They did, on the other hand, both look incredibly stubborn. Big surprise.

Like said before, M-O knew the “every couple fights” rule well but, even so, the whole mess was still so hard to believe. EVE and WALL-E having a little squabble? Yeah, it happened. EVE and WALL-E have a full out fight? What? He never thought he’d see the day.

Wait, why was he focusing on this? It was none of his business in the first place, really. How long could it last, anyway?

So he waited another day.

Two days.

Three days.

Four days.

Okay, that was it. They were both ten feet away from one another for crying out loud. Today, somebody lacking observational skills had decided to ask both robots to help tend the same field of Earth’s healing vegetation. Watching them facing away from each other and trying to pretend the other robot wasn’t all of 3.048 meters away, clearly melancholy over the entire situation, was just too pathetic. M-O scoffed and started emitting annoyed robotic tongue. He knew EVE was advanced enough to understand him, and WALL-E would at least get that he was there and he was aggravated, but neither even showed a sign of noticing him. They did notice him. He knew they did. They were stubborn as ever. He needed a plan B.

Let’s see… plan B… hmm…

Yep, that was gonna be plan B. They’d asked for it. M-O hit his cleaning brush against the ground in annoyance before wheeling off.

About 20 minutes passed before the microbe obliterator returned with something and placed it on the ground facing the torn couple. If either had bothered to look, they would have recognized it as a crank radio from WALL-E’s collection; the one with the tape player in it. As if carrying the thing wasn’t awkward enough without hands, now he had to crank it. He wedged his cleaning brush into the crank and started turning it the best he could. This took another 10 minutes of work. Finally, it was charged, and he pressed the play button, incredibly thankful it was already on the track he needed.

“It Only Takes a Moment” from the musical Hello, Dolly!

The moment the music started playing, both WALL-E and EVE froze. Everything seemed to freeze at that moment but the song. Then, they turned from their work and looked at each other for the first time in a week.

Another pause before they put down their gardening tools and began moving towards one another awkwardly. Did they even know why they were fighting? They both stared at one another, into the other’s eyes, their expressions sad and guilty looking. The later emotion overcame them and they turned away from one another, staring at the floor.

Another long moment passed.

WALL-E took EVE’s hand.

The scout robot’s eyes grew wide and she slowly turned to WALL-E, who was still looking away from her nervously. EVE’s expression changed again to a loving one, and she turned the bottom of her wing into a hand, intertwining her fingers with his. He finally turned to her and they locked their other hands, gazing into one another’s eyes. EVE laughed, and WALL-E joined in, and they just stayed there, giggling. Giggling and pressing their heads together, only stopping their laughter for a moment to let a spark pass between them.

M-O’s work was done. He left the two alone and thought about the events of the past week. Maybe there was a good reason for every couple having a first fight. It gave them something to overcome together. Yeah, right, like they hadn’t already done that enough. The realization that it had taken less time for them to save the world than to make up made him chuckle.

So, was a second fight mandatory too, or was it safe for him to be near the truck again now?

WOO! You’re on a role, Netbug009, great job! Keep them coming!

Your puppies just sink me in, Netbug!

No comments. Too tired. need to be up in 7 hours. Darn my late night antics.

Wait, no, one comment, a that’s thanks for the feedback everybody. ^^

WALL-EVE

He wiped the dust she had kicked up off his eyes quickly, not wanting to miss a moment of her acrobatics. The moment the ship was gone and she took off, he knew that she was special. While a tad oblivious to the way his fellow machine was supposed to act, he had seen he billboards his creators has put up of the other WALL-Es, so a part of him knew he was different. That same part of him knew she was different, and the more he saw that throughout the day, when she nice to his pet and when she showed emotions, the more that part of himself overthrew the rest.

But none of these realizations were beyond the awe of their original meeting. Her flight across the only sky he ever knew made him realize just how bleak that sky really was. But she had cut right through the clogged air of what had become solely his world, and all it took was that small thirst for freedom that made him immediately fall in love with her.

He hoped she could teach him how to fly.

She brought her hands together gently in coordination with the video, feeling an uprising inside of her. It was not a new emotion, new meaning first appearing right at that moment. It had first been noticed back on Earth a day or so earlier, but it hadn’t done anything like it was now, and it hadn’t been close to as powerful. Back then, she didn’t even know if she had actually felt it. It was just an idea that had come in and she had been curious about. Not anymore. Not after seeing her security footage. Now it was truly there, and it felt warm.

Didn’t he even realize he wasn’t doing his directive when he helped her? Did he even care? No, she knew he didn’t. He was helping her simply because he wanted to, and as she saw him do what he wanted to, she felt the urge to do the same come from that warmth inside, and wondered if that was the same warmth he had. Whatever it was, she liked it. She loved it, and that warm feeling inside if him was so strong that it had brushed off onto her and left her wanting more of it. More of him. She loved him. She didn’t completely understand it, but she knew he would.

She hoped he could teach her how to fly.

Okay, that’s a cute one. ( Sorry, I don’t really have much to say here. )

Still spoilers for WALL-E.

WALL-EVE

The countdown hit zero, the pod exploded, and for the first time EVE saw there was a world outside of the directive humanity had given her.

She knew it was there because she felt it fall apart.

“No…”

Soon after that world was in pieces, so was she.

“No…”

She tore through space as if getting to the disaster site fast enough would bring him back, but she’d already had a chance along those lines, which she failed.

And just before that she’d acted like she hated him. She’d blamed him for the plant. She’d blamed him for getting her stuck in the repair ward. He hadn’t caused any of it. Of all the last ways to treat someone, and of all the someones to treat that way… Did he see her chasing him? Did he see how sorry she was?

She may never know, but he definitely saw how happy she was when he zoomed by with the fire extinguisher.

Also, he had the plant.

And just before that she’d acted like she hated him. She’d blamed him for the plant. She’d blamed him for getting her stuck in the repair ward. He had risked his life to bring her directive back with him.

This time she’d make it clear she cared.

My WALL-E fics arn’t gonna get any less spoily. XD

How was this working?

He watched her soar across the night sky without a care in the world, and he couldn’t believe she credited him for that feeling. She was so beautiful when she flew. She was always beautiful to him, but when she danced in the sky it was even more incredible than the norm. He could only stare up at her, eyes trying to decide between being wide with amazement or half closed in a infatuated daze, so how was this working? How were they working? For a long time he had felt a special bond between them, and he had almost gotten himself killed just to get her to see it, but now that he had accomplished his goal he felt so unworthy of it all.

Sometimes, she would come down and pull him up, and they’d both soar in the night sky across that moon. He couldn’t help but wish that they were doing their acrobatics in space again. Back there, it has a symmetrical dance. Back there, they both lead and it somehow worked.

Back there, he could pretend for a moment that he could be up to her level.

How he wished he could fly.

I’m going to send in a request for a happy tears smiley.

I’m out of WALL-E spoiler puns

WALL-E/EVE

Dark clouds loomed over the landscape that the members of Operation: Recolonize had staked as their own. Like many other traits of the planet, knowledge of rain was programmed into EVE’s brain, and she knew she had once been in a rain storm while in stasis, but none of that made EVE any more used to that which she was feeling for the first time.

It took EVE about five minutes to figure out why humans mostly headed for cover when storms came. At the very least, they made one feel uncomfortable. She didn’t have the same issue with getting wet that her organic comrades had, but rather there was a special issue only she had. The crevice that her head stood above acted as a bowl, and the water that dripped from her head all fell into it and started to build up. It felt so awkward that she’s have to shake the water out rather frequently. The storm’s complete covering over their patch of the sky only pointed to this annoying routine continuing for the entire, long trek home.

But then he came.

She simply watched the Waste Allocator curiously as she continued hovering towards their home. He pulled out an old (but without holes, and she wondered how much work it was to find that) umbrella and rolled along beside her, holding it over her head. It was small. Rain still was hammering down on him. EVE wondered if he even noticed, since his expression looked so content. And he would be content. He always was when he could be near her. It didn’t matter what he had to go through for it, and seeing that trait in him yet again softened EVE’s expression greatly. He would let himself be completely drenched just so she wouldn’t feel a little discomfort.

But he didn’t have to do that.

As she hovered sideways towards him, she brought out her fingers. She put both hands on the umbrella handle, intertwining one with the one WALL-E was holding it with. Now they were both under it, and their pace almost immediately slowed. They looked over at one another, into the other’s eyes, and only looked away on rare occasion to check the road ahead of them (or, at least, EVE checked anyway.) WALL-E put his other hand on EVE’s other hand, and the huddled together happily as they kept moving.

EVE turned away from the warmth for a moment and looked up at the sky. It was still the same dark colors. Still the same gloomy clouds that only promised more of the storm, and yet now it all seemed so beautiful. It wasn’t the first time she’d felt that way. She turned back to WALL-E and put a spark on the side of his head. He sighed. She liked that.

They finally got home. It was too soon.

Wow, that happen to be the first fan fic I have ever read, and that was very enjoyable to read!! I loved it, I will be reading more of your fan fictions.

Great job

Thanks! You should totally read more. From what I’ve seen, the WALL-E fandom really knows how to write. ^^
