New character in Ratatouille? (Spoiler)

Some

people might make the ‘d’ silent on Django, so it’s pronounced more like Jango, but I think it really depends

on each individual case. Apart from that, yep, everything sounds about right!

Gasduude - Haha – I wouldn’t say expert, but thanks anyway!

lizardgirl - Yeah, I was thinking that too, actually. His name being

French, the ‘d’ is most likely silent; however, we won’t know for sure until we hear his name pronounced in

the film or in a trailer.

Mitch- You wouldn’t

say expert? Your’e probably the biggest Ratatouille fanatic on this site! How could you not be an expert?!!

Ah ah  I don’t have that pronunciation problem,

thankfully.

No the D is not silent, and it’s not French. Although

I don’t know exactly where it comes from. Anyway, we always pronounce the D when

it’s not the last letter of a word.
And I would say Linguini comes from Italy

  • but of course it’s not a real name.

All the other names you gave here are French.

Archibald - Ahh – how interesting. That just goes to show that I

still have alot to learn about France. Thanks for the information, though! I love the French language – it’s

very beautiful and…fluent.

I noticed

something about a character in the trailer, and I wonder if you saw it too. Look at this picture

:

This character

apparently loves fire. And I think it’s going to be a recurrent joke in the movie. When R?my is captured and he

realizes that he won’t be allowed to burn him, he looks disappointed ; and two other unnamed characters make

sure he switches off the flame.

Archibald - I also noticed

that while I was watching the film – it’s an oppurtunity for a few inside gags to appear throughout the movie,

like you said.

Pretty cool…
