I think a new couple will soon be added to the poll
in a few more months !
Hmm , not as many characters as the last PIXAR movie , it sounds
interesting though , and I think it might turn a bit into a mystery even .

Haha ā yeah!
To tell you the
truth, the less characters there are in a film, the more I like it (usually). Itās easier to keep track of them
and you donāt have to remember many names or titlesā¦compared to thousands of characters whose names are
impossible to memorize (ie, Meet the Robinsons). Still, there are a fair few
characters in Ratatouilleā¦when you think about it:
Remy
Emile
Django
Git
Linguini
Colette
Skinner
Auguste
Gusteau
Anton Ego

Thatās nine, fairly main characters in all, not including any
side people/animals that might be featured in the backround. Itās a big enough number to get you goingā¦
Anton Ego looks like Victor Van Dort from Corpse Bride and
Rick Dicker from The Incredibles mixed together.
Hey
Mitch, I can name everybody in Meet The Robinsons
easily. Iāve been practicing.
~~=oP
PixarVixen - Haha ā yeah, I know! I was trying to think
of who Anton Ego reminded me of.
Oh really? Now youāre making me curious. Hereās my list:
Wilbur
Lewis
Tiny
Bowler Hat Guy
Doris
I know what
all the other characters look like, but I canāt remember their names for the life of me. Tell me who I missed.
Iāll
list 'em all for ya over in the Meet The Robinsons thread so we donāt go too
off-topic. But I will say thisā¦
Large character casts may be hard to remember, but fans who love
the movies will make it their mission to memorize every single one of 'em. Itās a fan thing. Heh.
~~=oP
Heheh ā sure thing. Iāll go check out your list in the
afore-mentioned thread later on.
And yep ā you are definitely correct there. Man, I was way off when
I said that the more characters there areā¦the less I like a film, because I completely forgot about
Star Wars. (snigger) And that goes for other Pixar films, as well. Like you said,
itās a fan thing. More like a geek-y obsession, actually.
PV- A real fan thing is when you can
list all of the characters in a film without practising.
sniff sniff
do I senseā¦ a new Pixar couple??? rolls eyebrows like Jack Black XD
itās true Mitch, I
can name all of the Star Wars characters.
Googly-Bear- All the charactars? Or just the main ones? I mean, have you seen the
Star Wars Encyclopedia? Dude! Itās huge!
I
canāt name all the characters, but I can name all of the main ones and the
secondary characters.
but I probably couldnāt spell them.
Makes me wonder how many
characters (including the named minor ones) will be in Ratatouille.
The Star Swordsman - Eh, probably the usual
amountā¦
Youāve got the main character (Remy) and his select family members (Django ā dad; Emile ā
brother). Then you also have the friend/sidekick who tags along with the hero throughout the film (Linguini), the
pretty girl (Colette), and the antagonist who thinks only for himself (Skinner). And then you have your side
characters that add a little more āflair and careā to the movie (Auguste Gusteau and Anton Ego). Maybe
a few minor, backround characters will be added to the mix, as well (various other rats/animals; backround
people).
Weāll just have to see what happens, though.
Googly-Bear -
Off-Topic - (snigger) I can name all the Star Wars
characters, too.
Well, practicing is essential when you havenāt been
able to watch the darn movie yet.
~~=oP
Puh-ha! I was waiting to hear you say that, PV.
Hey guys, I never did mention thisā¦but:
Emile - eh -
meel
Emile - āa mealā
Coindicence? I think itās
cute, especially if the people at Pixar chose that particular name on purpose due to its apparent
āhomonymā. (snigger)
I told JV about this before-hand, so he
knows.
Mitch-Oh, itās pronounced like that? Or are you just making a comparison?
I
thought it was: EM-I-LEE
Depends on how
you pronounce it, I guess. I always thought it was āeh - meelā, but perhaps not?
But if you
pronounce it the way I do, you can see the comparison.
Mitch-Yep.Guess so.
Now Remy is pronounced REH-MEE right? Iāve always wondered this.
Yep ā you got
it! Itās pronounced āreh-meeā, like you said.
Iām not exactly sure how each characterās
name is uttered in the film, but I guess this is a pretty accurate list:
Remy - rehā
mee
Emile - eh
meelā
Linguini - ling gweeā
ney
Colette - coh
letā
Django - dee jangā go
Auguste Gusteau - ah gustā - goo stohā
So
yeah. Thatās my list.
Nice list!
I think I agree
with every one except Auguste Gusteau. I thought his last name was pronounced guh stewā.
But your the
expert!
