I just posted this in the Ratatouille forum, but probably should have put it here, since it covers stuff other than Ratatouille, and is quite interesting… a new, long, interesting interview with Brad Bird (the name of his new live-action film is revealed in it too).
Most interesting article, Miafka! Thanks for sharing.
What an in-depth interview. Thanks for that. ![]()
Well, at least it cleared up the whole [spoil]“chef’s hat on Remy” fiasco, so now we know Brad did want it in there at the end, and it wasn’t Disney who stuck it in. I don’t think Pixar would have let Disney touch it, anyway.[/spoil] I also really wanted to hear why all the good features were held back from DVD, especially the commentary (even though they did touch on that). Hopefully another interviewer will address this.
Oh I just love reading interviews about one of my most favorite directors of all time. Thanks for the share miafka!
Thanks for the great interview, miafka. I think I’ve read some excerpts from the same event, but it was cool reading the thing un-abridged.
You mean 1906? I thought we already knew that.
Interesting. I didn’t read the entire interview, but the parts that I did read were quite enjoyable, informative, and all-around awesome, as usual. Heheh.
And sooo…[spoil]it was all Mr. Lasseter’s fault! For once, I disagree with a Pixar individual on something. I never was that keen on Remy putting on a chef’s hat at the end of the film, even though it’s cute and he did (as my mom and Brad Bird stated) earn it. Yeah, I hate the hat. (snigger)[/spoil]
Thank you for the link, miafka! ![]()

Brad Bird has a way with words. He’s pure genius.
I’m not positive, but I think this is the text version of a video I saw at the Home Theater Forum on Blu Ray. I’ll find a link soon.
