Hey, everyone I have some great ideas. How about asking Pixar if we could send in ideas or videos and if they like some of them enough they can edit them to perfection and publish them on the website and if they get good reveiw. They can make it as big as they want. Who gets the credit you!!
You could have the oppurtunity to become a successful animator maybe even famous. So how 'bout it Pixar actually listen to our ideas we have talent just give us a chance.[/spoiler]
I think Pixar would very much rather have themselves come up with new ideas instead of take suggestions, but I would like to see one of my ideas come to the big screen some day.
Pixat wouldnât do that, but you can always apply to be an animator. In fact, if I got the time, money, time, money, and computer space, Iâd be animating away.
What you could do is animate your ideas, put them on YouTube, and see what happens. Or just work to be an animator, you never know what might happen. ![]()
Yeah that would be nice, but movie studios dont usually take requests. It seems to me like Pixar is having no shortage of ideas for movies (and I wouldnt expect them to, have a shortage I mean). But yeah if you were lucky enough to get inside and work for them, your chances of seeing one of your ideas come to fruition would obviously be elevated. I did send them some of my drawings once, just to show them what theyâve inspired me to do. So suppose that couldnt hurt.
If you look in the Pixar FAQâs on its website, they pretty much donât touch anything sent to them containing creative ideas and send them back unread. Iâm glad they do this, though, because they explained that if they did read the idea and use it, giving credit where itâs due then becomes very difficult.
Maybe we could all put together a letter by the board and sign all our names on it (like you do in a petition), and maybe in it we can just say a big thank you, encourage the team in all their future films and such, and just let them know that we exist. ![]()
Well jumping off of the comment that stated the petition. I would like to say that would be great in a little different way. Maybe we could go on many of the blog parts if not all and ask people what they think maybe it will catch there eye and they will actually listen to us. PEASE REPLY!!
Thatâs a great idea! But how would we âsignâ? ![]()
Jeopardy 30-second theme
Maybe get someone to sign it first, then to mail it to someone else, then to mail it to someone elseâŚexcept if we do that, weâd reveal each otherâs personal info like mail addresses and names.
Oh, well. Thereâs gotta be another wayâŚgeeks off
We did do something like that not too long agoâŚNot a petition, but we did kinda let Pixar know we exist
Iâve been trying to find the actual topic that said what it was about but I cant seem to. Anyway, we wrote letters to them saying how much we appreciated them and they all got sent at once and I believe got set out somewhere so the Pixarians could read them (I think PV was in charge of getting that all together, right?)
Yeah, youâre right but there has to be a way to get pixar to recognize our talent. ![]()
The way to do that is to apply for a job, seriosuly, you canât do that, besides, if you submit an idea to Pixar, more than likely, you just doomed it.
Thanks you guys but I still canât let it go I just have to submit this short I know that pixar would do a way better job with the idea than me but how to get their minds to somehow get distracted from the money for a minute and look all the way back to where they began and where we are. ![]()
CanDo#1 - I admire your enthusiasm, but the fact is that Pixar will not take any pitches for stories that come from people outside the studio - you need to be an employee of Pixar. In fact, employees of Pixar are contractually obligated to stop reading/watching anything as soon as they realise that it is a pitch for a movie. This rule is in place to stop âoutsidersâ trying to control what Pixar does, and to protect themselves from claims of plagiarism.
If you think you have good basis for a story, get a job at Pixar and then pitch it to them.
CanDo#1: The key to being a successful animator isâŚanimating.
Maybe we could see your short? See, Pixar does look around on YouTube, you know, so Iâd strongly suggest putting your short on YouTube instead, and see if people like it.
If youâd like, we Pixar Planeteers could also offer suggestions if thatâs what youâre looking for.
If you send your idea to Pixar, you might be disappointed when it comes back in the mail.
And even if they DID see your film for some reason (very unlikely) itâ's basically saying to them DONâT do this film, cus thatâs their policy, but a letter does sound like a good idea, we should do that. ![]()
Thanks oh and guess what I took your advice and my friend and I are going to animate it ourselves my friend currently has a company named flying giraffe and they do all kinds of films and he said he would help me in my delema and it should be done by the beginning of next year. Although a long time away it is going to be great thanks again.
We are not Pixarians - we donât work at Pixar.
Thanks for pointing that out, Rachel. I donât even remember typing that. ![]()
Or what you can probably do is find someone you know who works at Pixar and tell them your idea, then have them tell the story guys.
As I already pointed out, Pixarians are not allowed to listen to any story ideas from anyone outside the studio - especially if they cotton on to the fact that it is a story pitch they are listening to. ![]()
Exactly what Rachel said. If youâd like some geniuses to give their thoughts on your idea, you might be searching for awhile, but thereâs a genius in everyone, and everyone knows what they like. If you can animate, you could do it by yourself, or get a bunch of other amateur animators/thinkers to help you out.
Pixar doesnât even look at anyone elseâs ideas mainly because it would cause major complications, and if there is a good idea in there, it might clog some Pixariansâ minds and cause some disaster.
