I think the perspective is sort of meant to be weird, especially if you look at Woody’s legs. Perhaps it’s part of the style, but I’m not too keen on the glazed eyes either.
Gahhh! Those eyes are very creepy! You’re right, lizardgirl, Woody’s legs are very thin…wouldn’t he fall down because of them? If Woody and Buzz looked at me like that in real life, with those eyes, then I’d punch them in the face (they don’t look like that in the movies, though, so it’s all good). I guess maybe it’s just a comic book-style version of them…a very weird style indeed.
I have no problem with Woody’s legs though. its just that buzz’s chest piece looks like its an inflatable baloon. I’m not really talking about style as much as I am actual drawing skill. Cartoony and deliberately off model I like, but I don’t think the perspective of his chest meshes well with other parts of his body. I just think it looks rushed.
and the eyes are fine, theyve always been glazed like that. at least in the sadder scenes, or extreme close ups. its all over the TS3 trailer, and the scene where Woody gets restored in TS2. what may be throwing you guys off is the length and roundness of the nose, it makes them look more kiddy than we’re used to.
