Nickelodeon vs. Cartoon Network

I’m pretty much a fan of both. Don’t take this as a who’s better thing just what do you

like/dislike about both. What do ya miss? I miss alot of the old Nick and Cartoon Network shows they had back in

the 90’s :frowning:

Me too. A lot of the

shows I grew up on were Nick shows (my childhood pretty much predates Cartoon Network - I know, I’m so old…)

and the stuff they show nowadays can be such drivel. Fairly Odd-Parents was pretty cool for a while, and so was

Danny Phantom (both were relatively self-aware, and I’m a sucker for superhero shows). But alas, both are

gone…

It’s not animation, but thank goodness that some of the shows I grew up on (Legends of the Hidden

Temple, Double Dare, etc.) are being shown on Nick GAS and Nicktoons.

I like both too. Today, I am leaning

more toward cartoon network. But back in the day where Nickelodeon played game shows, Nickelodeon was my

channel.

I live in Canada so I get

neither… but I remember watching them whenever I was in a hotel in the U.S. While I’m not a huge fan of

animations being shown on those networks today, there are a few that tickle my gut. One of them being Camp Lazlo.

Me too. :frowning: I only watch Nickelodeon for Spongebob

Squarepants, and even THAT show is becoming too silly for me.

Cartoon Network rules. Foster’s Home For

Imaginary Friends, The Powerpuff Girls, Teen Titans, and tons of other great cartoons have a home there. My Gym

Partner’s A Monkey is starting to grow on me.

My only complaint is that they don’t show Looney Tunes and

Hanna Barbera shows anymore. I wish I had Boomerang.

Oh I like Cartoon Network. I was never that into Nick. I like Foster’s, Camp

Lazlo, Billy & Mandy, Kids Next Door. I also watch Family Guy and Futurama on Adult Swim. I miss Dexter’s

Lab and Powerpuff Girls being on at a regular time. I also miss Johnny Bravo and Duck Dodgers. And my complaint

too is that they dont show Looney Tunes or any of the old Hanna Barbara shows anymore. I really need to get

Boomerang…

Cartoon Network for me, mainly because of all of those shows you mentioned, PV. And, if I’m in the mood for

some real classics, I’ll watch Boomerang instead, though I still prefer CN. Nickelodean’s still pretty good,

but doesn’t have the wacky style of CN.

I used

to watch Nick back in the day when “AHHH! Real Monsters!” aired first-run. That was such a cool show,

with lots of jokes and political/social jabs that only adults would get, for the most part. I actually refused

to go see Monsters, Inc. in theaters because from the trailer they showed on tv, it

looked like a CGI rip-off of that Nicktoon!

Now, though, I’m totally hooked on "Foster’s Home For

Imaginary Friends", which means tuning into Cartoon Network. Ironically, one of the reasons I love that

show so much is the fairly obvious Pixar references, including a pretty clear inspiration from

Monsters, Inc. for character designs, and an actual “cameo” appearance by

a certain Pixar character, or his Imaginary counterpart, at least.

I like both…Fairly Odd parents is still on over here, and Adult Swim plays on CTNW, so it

counts.

I have Boomarang it’s the best, I ushally fall asleep to it, or Nicktoons tv. The played

“wait till your father get’s home” For those who dont know it’s a very old cartoon show. from the

1970’s

it’s very good. And flintstones and the

jetsons, and Looney tunes, they play 2 stupid dogs, and now they play dexters lab too…

and of cource Top

I’m a

fan of Cartoon Network and Boomerang myself, although I don’t get them any more, woe! I loved Duck Dodgers when

it was on, that was always one of my favourite Looney Tunes ones and the series was amusing in its own right. I

like the Power Puff Girls too, and Dexter’s Laboratory - and when they played it, I Am Weasel and Cow and

Chicken.

Boomerang

shows 2 Stupid Dogs? Doggone it! Heheh.

Little Dog - "I want the

toilet seat!"
Big Dog - “I want the toilet seat.”
PixarVixen -

I want Boomerang!”

Big Dog was voiced by Brad Garrett.

Gotta love it.

Seriously? You know, now that I think about it, that makes perfect

sense…

Yeah, I’ve felt the same way.

What even happened

to the two of them. Now the only Cartoons they show on Cartoon Network aren’t even funny, they just, well,

suck.

Nick used to be unreal as well, and now the have one good show left, SSP.

But seriously,

Cartoon Network is my all time favourite, and over here in the UK, the main channel shows nothing but action

cartoons that are crummy and non appealing. The best were Dexters Lab, Johnny Bravo, The Powerpuff Girls, Cow and

Chicken, I am Weasel.

All those were so funny, it’s also the end of an era hear too, seeing Cartoon

Network destroyed their classic logo.

(sigh)THey just do’nt show good shows like they used to. :`-(

Generations these days don’t know what they’ve missed :sunglasses: and have no idea what a

good cartoon looks like. (for the most part) :unamused:
