I recently emailed to Forum Cinemas, local distributor of Disney/Pixar movies, and they said that they have no plans on bringing 3D versions of first Toy Story movies to Estonian audience. Lame! I’m very disappointed!
And in Spain, probably they have plans to bring TS1&2 in 3D… to one cinema in Madrid. That means I won’t be able to see it, too. Or simply they won’t show it, which also can happen. (There are only 3 cinemas able to display 3D films here, the nearest to me is 2 hours an a half from my town).
However, I don’t like films in 2D converted into 3D. Films must stay the same they were designed. I still remeber what they did on Star Wars. You can’t alter a piece of art ![]()
That must be annoying! That’s the thing about 3D films, that not all cinemas are capable of showing them, and in a way it almost makes them a liability. Plus they’re so much more expensive to watch.
I have to agree with Luke though, that if a film wasn’t designed to be viewed in 3D in the first place, it shouldn’t be converted or anything like that. Even if Toy Story and Toy Story 2 are available in 3D in a cinema local to me, I probably won’t go and see them anyway.
After seeing Coraline i’ve always wanted to see if other 3-D films were up to Coraline’s stantards. I might just see Toy Story and Toy Story 2 for the heck of it. ![]()
I’m still very disappointed… And it is even a bit stupid, because the distributor for Disney movies in Estonia is also the owner of only cinema with 3D screens (two in total) in Estonia at the moment. But in October a brand new multiplex with seven 3D screens will open in Tallinn and other cinemas will continue upgrading to 3D.
