No Presto?!

I came back from watching WALL•E, which was of course, amazing. I was left speechless.

BUT my theater didn’t play Presto!! What’s up with them?

I really wanted to see it :frowning:
Maybe I’ll try another theater next week.

Wish me luck!

I believe a theater can get in big trouble for not showing “Presto,” and it’s likely in their contract to do so. “Presto” is very much part of the program that Disney/Pixar provided the theaters.

I’d suggest you issue a complaint at the theater, tell them you plan to phone or e-mail Disney/Pixar theatrical distribution – and then follow through.

Good advice, also, if you’re really desperate, Presto is on sale on iTunes. But yeah, you paid t see all of the WALL-E feature, including the sort! What’s up with that?

I really liked the Presto short. I think Im going to go buy it on iTunes.

I thought that it was so funny and great.

I had a similar experience when I went and saw Ratatouille. They didn’t play the WALL•E teaser trailer at any of the showings I went to, even at different cinemas, which annoyed me a bit since that was lost early exposure that Pixar would have had for a future film, and also 'cause I wanted to see it. I always thought they had to show all three together when it came to Pixar films (trailer, short, film), otherwise they’d get into trouble.

You should definitely complain- Presto and WALL-E come together as a package. You should at least get your money back or something.

I’ve worked at a theater in the past and PIXAR makes it VERY clear that the theater is to show the trailer, the short, then the movie. When CARS was in theaters there was this whole package of stuff that came with the reel, including two large signs explaining exactly what to do. If the theater ignores this they are breaking the contract their theater’s company has made with Disney*PIXAR.

*You should know that the trailer, short, and movie, are not initially together. It’s the projectionist’s obligation to splice them toether with tape (as with any other moive and trailer). In the case of PIXAR, they even provide emergency contact numbers to the theater (on a peice of laminated paper themed to the relevant movie) in case something goes wrong with the film or something happens to it. It said they immediately ship a replacement set of reels. Also, there was a warning that PIXAR representatives make their rounds nationwide to ensure the quality of the theater’s presentation. PIXAR is NOT accepting of sub-par presentation of their films…part of their greatness.

Oh and in case you’re wonderring, the emergency contact paper had Fillmore on it taking up a good portion of the bottom right of the page, and the Cars logo was near the top.

I remember those signs. I still got 2 from when we got ‘The Incredibles.’

The way I remember it at the time, we were to keep the ‘Cars Trailer,’ ‘Boundin’,’ and ‘Incredibles’ completely together.

However, my GM at the time had CARS cut from the reel, and placed right before the ‘Feature Presentation’ film splice.

Some theaters I’ve seen them keep the PIXAR trailer intact, and you’d hear a couple people go, ‘What? Not again!’ They don’t see the higher green tone of the ‘All Audiences’ logo and realize it’s the PIXAR preview.

You didn’t see Presto? I’m sorry.

I found it on Youtube!

Yeah, that’s pirating. -_-

Sadly I dont think it was done with a camera in a theater. I’m not sure how someone got a hold of that film.

That’s too bad, because Presto was a great short (to go along with the great movie that is WALL-E). Does anybody know if Presto will be on the DVD? There’s going to be a new short made especially for the DVD release, but I was wondering if Presto would also be on the disc.

Presto will be in the WALL-E DVD.
It’s kinda a newer thing that Pixar started with Monsters Inc., that they make a new short film along with the VHS/DVD/Blu-Ray releases of their films.

Monsters Inc. = For the Birds + Mike’s New Car
Finding Nemo = Knick Knack + No new short film (Unless you count “Exploring the Reef”)
The Incredibles = Boundin’ + Jack Jack Attack
Cars = One Man Band + Mater and the Ghostlight
Ratatouille = Lifted + Your Friend the Rat
WALL-E = Presto + BURN-E

I didn’t upload that, I just found it. So I’m not responsible for pirating.
