I LOVE Toy Story, but everybody seems to be in a totally different stage, like The Incridbles (Ex.The Star Swordsman) Monsters Inc. (Ex.lizardgirl) Cars (LightingandDoc) And I cant tell what woody is intersted on. Anyways, it seems like everybody will see TS3 JUST because its a Pixar movie.
Iâm a big Toy Story fan! Hence the Woody Anyways, people still like Toy Story on these forums. may be even love it. They just arenât as big fans of it as they are of other Pixar films.
Youâre not alone! I love Toy Story! This is the movie that launched Pixar and even though they keep improving and making better and better films, I am still impressed with Toy Story every time I see it. Itâs an original story with good heart and some humor mixed into the bunch. And whatâs more fun than watching toys come alive! Buzz, Woody, and the rest of the gang will always have a special place in my heart.
Toy Story is my favorite Pixar movie. It has a certain energy to it that no other Pixar film has been able to capture since. The characters are great, the writing is hilarious, and the animation still holds up alright today. Even though Up will probably top it, Toy Story will always be held in a special place to me.
And yes, Iâm super excited for Toy Story 3. Iâve been waiting for it ever since I was little. It kind of represents the end of my childhood for me, which also parallels the story of the movie.
I like Toy Story. I like it a lot! In fact I like it better now than when I was a kid. Buzz is my fav character out of those movies. Of course itâs not my favorite, but itâs not because I hate it or anything.
Toy Story is actually my favourite Pixar film. I know it doesnât seem like it considering my username and my avatar and signature, but Monsters, Inc. is only my third favourite Pixar film. I just happen to love one character from it (as well as disliking pretty much every other character in it. ) WALL-E also beats Monsters, Inc. in my eyes, but so far nothing has come close to beating Toy Story! The characters, the originality, the animation that still holds up even today, the Randy Newman songs, the little adult references and the feeling of sheer perfection is what makes Toy Story so special. Of course Pixar has made many other brilliant movies, but thereâs something about Toy Story that none of the other movies have got. Iâm not sure what it is, but itâs definitely something unique.
So youâre not the only Toy Story fan, annarborjack! I guess that one of the reasons there isnât as much conversation about it on here is because it is an older film and so we havenât been through the process of waiting for its release and all of that sort of stuff that tends to bring up many forum threads.
I was actually thinking about making a thread about this. But, I know what you mean. Whenever you look at The Pixar Movies classifacation thread everyoneâs top 3 are WALL-E, Ratatouille, and The Incredibles, while mine are the first two Toy Storyâs. Plus, I donât think that people would only seeTS3 because itâs a Pixar film, but because it was better than Ice age or Shrek or any of the other movies that are being made into trilogys. Plus some people on here really like Ice age etc. and theyâre crazy to go see them, so they must be crazy to see the TS sequels.
EDIT: {sorry I forgot to announce that it was my 300th post BACK ON TOPIC!}
Toy Story is in my top 3 Pixar movies!! I watched it the other week and it was a lot better than when I watched it when I was a kid!! I understood most of the jokes and I actually paid attention to what was happening!! I even recognized the crate that Woody was in when I saw it in WALL-E (in the garbage when WALL-Eâs knocking on the fridge, and when heâs ârunningâ towards EVEâs ship thatâs taking her away).
Just because a lot of people seem to like the newer movies like WALLâ˘E or Ratatouille does not mean that any one of them (including myself) âhateâ or âdonât care aboutâ Toy Story. Iâm also unusually excited for the release of the third in the âseriesâ; seeing as how Iâve never been a big fan of âthree-quelsâ since Spy Kids 3 and Shrek 3.
Every time I watch Toy Story, Iâm reminded of how brilliant the people at our favorite animation studio are, and how they were able to do so much with TS given the animating skills they posessed way back in the late '80s, early '90s. Randy Newmanâs musical work on the film is beyond incredible, and the movie itself reminds me of my childhood and many great memories I made with my siblings concerning the film. Nobody âhatesâ this film, annarborjack, or forces themself to like it just because itâs a âPixarâ.
Whatâs up with the pity threads popping out of nowhere, I wonder? Just because a movie is not getting recognized to your knowledge, does not mean that it hasnât already claimed a special place in each and every heart.
Hey, just because Iâm a Cars fanatic, it doesnât mean I donât enjoy TS. In fact, when I was younger, I watched Toy Story so much, I ruined the VHS! We had to get the DVD (which at the time we bought the VHS we didnât have a DVD player) just so I could watch it again.
The reason I donât love it as much anymore is because I was obsessed with it as a little girl (when i was about 2-6. it was the first movie I ever saw in theaters)!
I had stuffed dolls of the characters , watched it pretty much everyday, would color pictures of the characters etc.
Eventually I just got bored of being obsessed with (by about 1st grade) and just dropped it.
Same with Bugs Life I used to be obsessed with that too when it first came out, and eventually just got bored.
I donât know why⌠I still enjoy watching it, and I canât wait for Toy Story 3 (Im so excited!) .
But thats just why I donât really talk that much about it anymore.
Toy Story has always been ym favorite Pixar movie just because it begins all of the other Pixar Films. I think people might have just gotten bored of it because the technology for animation is way more advanced. That undoubtedly gives no reason not to love Toy Story though. =]
The Toy Story movies are not my favourites because I feel like every Pixar film is better than the last. But Iâm VERY excited for TS3 because the series is a big part of my childhood and I canât wait to revisit it.
