Nostalgia Critic Disneycember

omgosh so I’m not the only one who thinks this!

Of course you’re not the only one! I completely agree with both of you. I did use to kind of like SOME of the first Disneycember, but now I don’t really follow his views that often. Sometimes I just can’t take the cursing, and other times the complaining gets too annoying.

I try to skip whenever I think he’s going into a swearing fit. 8D

I didn’t like the videos.

My favorite Disney reviews are the ones done by unshaved mouse.

He’s HILARIOUS. I’ve read all his reviews. He’s up at Fox and the Hound.

He’s a scriptwriter, so he knows what he’s talking about when it comes to stories. And even when he is criticizing a film I like, I’m not bothered by it. (He really, really doesn’t like Three Caballeros. But it’s still one of my favorite reviews of his, because it’s so funny!) It’s the right amount of humor, honesty, gushing for a reviewer. He’s reviewing all the canon Disney films, and did reviews for Song of the South, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and Mary Poppins.

There is some swearing, but it’s not overused at all, not like NC. I also like how he has running jokes throughout the blogs, little ‘interactions’ with Walt Disney, and he’s been making references to something that’s going to happen in the Black Cauldron review.

You guys do know the Nostalgia criitc is a character right? It isn’t his real opinion. Some of it is mixed it but it’s also faked. The NC yells, screams, and swears. Doug really only swears, he’s alot more calm and is more likly to point out the good points of a movie. He’s also more fair to them. Pixar movies do have flows, and he ponts them out from his perspective. Disneycember is his real opinion, if they were a NC, they woulden’t. As for the swearing, I don’t care. There could be less but they sometiems make the review better.

There’s stuff he reviews that I don’t agree with, but it’s nothing to get upset about. He hates Cars I like it. He hates Pokemon I like it. One thing I find weird is his Toy Story 3 review. He called Andy a dweeb for how described his toys at the end. He does realize he’s taliking a 3 or 4 year old girl right? I can understand that being dorky for someone who was 10 or older, but she’s about 4 and you talk diffrent to little kids then you do your friends. You talk more like a kid yourself, if he talked like he did to his friends she may not be as interesed in the toys.

I’m not upset by it. I just don’t like his character, opinions, or presentations. That doesn’t mean I’m angry about it.

I used to hate him about 5 years ago when I was a big AVGN fan. Then I watched his videos again about 3 years ago and really liked them. I rememebr the first one I saw was his Home Alone 3 review. I would like to see him review some of the bad Disney sequels like Hunchback 2 or something.

Me too. I guess some of them are fine, but otherwise, I think the majority sound whiny and are not videos I will re-watch.

Sorry, Pixarfan91. It’s just my opinion of his opinions.

I like most of his in-character videos. I think some of the more recent ones have gotten too long though. I can understand why- it’s his full time job now. I think I like his commercial reviews the best.

Perhaps I’ll take a look at those! :nerd:

I really like the Dreamworks-Uary. Except for Bee Movie, I think those are really good and accurate.

Yeah, he was surprisingly praise full of that.

The Dreamworks-uary is rather fairly reviewed. I thought it more or less worked, sometimes. Even the negative ones weren’t so much hated on as they were sought out as bad.

And I just realized, while I find that a lot of the Disney ones are criticized, for some weird reason he happens to be a big fan of ALL of my personal favorites. My favorite Pixar films are Toy Story and Toy Story 2, and he loves them. I relate to him on those ones, the only difference being that I would not have pre-doubted their success like he did. I have four favorite #1 Disney films. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is the first one, which he praised. He also got both of the Winnie the Pooh films right, thankfully. And I saw his Wreck-It Ralph review. Not only did he really like it, I thought it was nice to see that he looked genuinely happy as he reviewed that one rather than bummed out that he didn’t really have a way to bash it. He loves the ones I love the most, so I’m like "Yes! ", but then he doesn’t really like the ones I also love but just less than my favorites, and I’m like "Bummer, never mind  ". It just happens to be complicated with me. Gah! Well, at least he likes those ones, whatever. :unamused:

I’ve noticed the videos where he just gives his opinions out of character without the shouting are much better. I really like his come back videos. They’re much more thoughtful and intelligent since he came back.
