Just after he tells Lotso’s backstory he holds up the Daisy pendent thing as if to…throw it? I don’t know I guess that’s what I’m asking. Whats up with this odd gesture?
I was wondering the same thing as well. It’s really hard to figure it out.
He’s turning over to look at the stitching where Bonnie fixed him.
Yes, Bryko’s right.
He pulls the pose shown in the pixture just as he tells Woody how Bonnie took him home and stitched him up. It only looks like he’s about to throw the name tag, but he’s really just looking at his stitching.
If you look really close at Chuckle’s arm it looks kinda weird like it’s sideways in an unnatural position what do you guys think?
EDIT:didn’t make myself clear enough.
Yeah, if that’s what he’s doing it doesn’t really make sense to have the arm holding the pendent out like that. I don’t usually question their animation choices but in this case I just don’t think they communicated the idea very well. Why not put his arm down while doing this?
It was just an exaggerated movement to show him looking down, since he’s a little oddly in shape to begin with I understand why they over animated it. I never thought about his other arm for a second, but I see where you guys find the action strange.
Is it exaggerated though? I mean, even his eyes don’t really tell me that he’s looking at his stitching. they look like their looking out the window. every aspect of his body language tells my brain he’s winding up like a pitcher to throw something.
It’s more like he’s opening up his body to show the characters but instead is showing the audience, something commonly done in live theatre where you can be talking to and showing someone behind you something but you’re cheating out for the audience to see it instead. I hope that makes some sense ><
Well his eyes have no pupils, so it is somewhat hard to see what he’s looking at, but that’s why his body is turned and his head is down. Also, he was probably holding the heart in front of his face to look at rather than at his side which is why it’s up like that, and because they want the audience to be able to get a good look at it.
Those black things aren’t pupils? I guess I never thought of him as being like Hamm where his eyes were just black dots. I figured if those were his bottom set of eyelashes, and the part just above that were his eye whites.
Wow, I had always pictured him just having black eyes like Hamm as well, but looking at him again with your Whites of the Eyes theory makes him look even creepier. Eek.
Okay I just frame by framed some of the animation, looks like you guys are right about the eye whites. When he blinks his lids only cover the black dots, they don’t go all the way down to his bottom painted on lashes.
I still can’t help but think of them as eye whites though, that’s just the way my eyes will always interpret it.
Yeah, I always thought they were eye whites too. But I guess that, along with Hamm, his “eyes” are the black circles while the indents are his eye sockets.
Although, not quite sure what to make of his eyebrows then, if the white parts aren’t part of his eyes.
Going back to the original topic, it’s impossible for him to throw it the way his body is twisted, plus, he’s holding it upwards. I guess it’s hard to see where he’s looking, but his head is still tilted down. Then again, it’s hard to have stuff defined with him stumpy arms.
