Official Teaser/Trailer Discussion

I assumed the walls were stripped for the same reason the toys needed to be packed, Andy isn’t just going to college, he’s moving out of the house.

Finally watched the new trailer (also British and Spanish linked here). A couple of quick observations:

The triceratops is adorable, I like her already. I have no idea who Kristen Schaal is (I had no idea who Patton Oswalt was before Ratatouille, either), but her voice performance is darling. “Just a dinosaur.” [spoil]She just has to “end up with” Rex.[/spoil]

I’m in the camp that thinks the Train Scene is [spoil]Young Andy playing with his toys - and oh, my, I love the “epic” feel of that![/spoil]

My main reservation: On the whole, Pixar has always done a terrific job with their “casts of thousands,” but this one really is starting to feel like a cast of thousands! I learned long ago never ever to doubt Pixar when they get to the finished product, but I’m anxious to see how all the new characters are going to balance out.

Well, if you look at his room through Mrs. Potato head’s vision, which would happen probably before he leaves, he’s got stuff all over the shelves and walls, and doesn’t Andy seem older in the clip? Maybe that’s just me, but I thought he seemed a little more mature-looking.

Wait… How do we know the Octopus is a bad guy?? [spoil] Maybe that part with Ken, where Ken says “That space guy. he could be useful.” and the Octopus says “Oh, please.”[/spoil]

I also was curious about Andy’s different appearance once he puts the toys in the box. I bet his “speech” about Woody, was in response to someone asking “Why” he was packing him in there…

For me, I’d like to think he’s taking his toys to college with him (I know I most certainly will be hauling the Toy Story entourage with me), and once they return, he simply packs them “to go”-I could be wrong

Then why is Woody not in the box with them? also, when Andy’s giving his speech about him, he’s outside, perhaps on college grounds…not trying to disprove you or anything, I’m just speculating…I always figured the speech was a dream of Woody’s. I’m guessing Woody gives up defeating Lotso, then one night hears Andy in his dream, and realizes he has to live up to Andy believing he’ll never give up on him. That spurs him on to finally finding a way to get home

Something I’m wondering is why do the daycare toys want to hold all of the gang prisoner in the daycare? [spoil]Right now the only thing that would make sense is that the daycare toys want Buzz, and Woody refuses to leave without taking Buzz with him. Also, what did Potato Head do to be locked in the sandbox while everyone else is just in the containers?[/spoil]

I just read on Wikipedia that [spoil]Bonnie Hunt will play the purple haired doll.[/spoil] Though, this could be false, since it was on Wikipedia.

YouUnculturedSwine- I hope you don’t mind, but I changed the title of this thread so it’s now the official place to talk about trailers for Toy Story 3 from around the world.

I, for one, am going to be avoiding anymore trailers (unless I happen to see one on TV). I think the latest one revealed a bit too much for my liking and I’d rather be kept in the dark.

Don’t mind at all…and I also don’t wanna see any more trailers/clips, but I can’t resist, so I’ll probably see the whole movie before it comes out =P

LOL. I’ll probally see the whole movie before it comes out too, although I can’t help but watch every single trailer for it. My dad and I have been waiting 11 years for this and I refuse to not know anything about the film! It’s the same thing when The Simpsons Movie came out, I couldn’t help but read every possible spoiler I could find!

Ha ! I knew I still had it !

WOW. That looks just like the one from the trailer! I’ll pay you $100 for it (If I had a $100…)

Ok, so I finally saw it and I must say, this movie looks freakin epic!
Looks like Buzz goes evil a bit. Maybe cuz he gets left behind, the bear probaly talks Buzz into being evil cuz of being left by Andy. Course Woody wanting to go home too. Than I guess Woody doesn’t like it there and hides at night. Every one trys to get Woody home. Andy will probaly find his old box of toy’s in the end, with Woody’s help some how. The action scenes intrest me, what the heck is up with the monkey’s chasing them? I’m thinking Ken’s the evil villain here. Woody V.S Ken?

I’d just like to note that the Disney fan site Stitch Kingdom has posted the names of three new characters.

“Learned about new Toy Story 3 characters from new plushes (shhh) - Stretch, Rag Doll and Buttercup.”

Buttercup-she is the toughest fighter! lol just kidding, cool information.

I did the exact same thing with that movie XD

I know, it was so hard for me to wait to see the movie. I’m actually more of a Simpsons fan then I am a Pixar fan, but I love them both equally.

Back on topic, I think that [spoil]Buttercup is the name of the doll with the purple hair.[/spoil]

sorry to over quoting, anyway i agree with that name being for the purple haired toy also........I'm more of a simpsons fan then pixar fan too, atcually more than anything, Back on topic ,in the international trailer [spoil]are they climbing in through a window or something what do you think that is?[/spoil]

It appears that they’re [spoil]entering Andy’s room. If you recall bac in Toy Story 2, they go through that same window with the other part of the roof outside when Buzz sets off to rescue Woody.[/spoil]
