Official Teaser/Trailer Discussion

I heard about him, but had commpletly forgotten about it. My guess is either his part got cut, or he’s part of a twist of some kind.

Hopefully he’ll appear in a cut scene of some sort, whether it’s a toy that Andy only had temporarily, a toy that used to be part of the daycare but isn’t anymore, or perhaps even a toy that one of the other toys associates (or associated) with at one point. I have a feeling that he’s still going to be in the movie.

Trixie has apparently known and chatted with this person before, so it probably wouldn’t be Rex. You might be right if this takes place at a later point in the film, though. They might not even give an identity to Velociraptor237. I have a far-out theory, however, that they’ll reveal it to be Rex in the bloopers somehow.

its been 11 years since TS2, Rex could have chatted with her on a regular basis for over a year for all we know. but we’ll see.

Another valid point, but how do you know it’s been 11 years? I thought Andy was 8 in Toy Story 2.

Then it’s 10…not that great of a difference for the whole situation.

shrug I was just going off that scarry teaser we recently, the voice over says “11 years ago, they disappeared…”. Though I guess that could be be the actual number of years passed. But that’s not important for the point I was trying to make.

Yeah, it has been 11 years since Toy Story 2 because it came out in 1999 and it is now 2010, so that would be 11 years.

I was actually just wondering about the timeline, since there’s little official input on that.

Heres the Japan trailer

Whoa.

Lots of interesting new footage in there. Lots. I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to speak Japanese more than I do right now.

Okay, that was just crazy epic. Even better than our trailer! Can anyone translate?

Also, did anyone else notice RC, Bo Peep, and Wheezy added to the home video footage?

Whoa! That trailer from Japan is hardcore! I’m so curious right now as to what they were all saying in all those new clips. But visually that was quite a treat, even if I couldn’t understand them!

Man, I told myself I’d avoid the Japanese trailer for this movie, they always show the most footage, and while I don’t think it ruined any specific plot twists, it does show a lot more than I wanted to see. and I bet if I were to analyse it I would find something that gives something away. I would really recommend avoiding this one guys.

I’m just glad I couldn’t understand a word of the dialogue.

Very tempting, but I’m definitely going to avoid viewing it. I feel like I know too much as is.

What a fantastic trailer  (the Japanese one) … makes me want to see the movie even more so now :frowning: Although honestly, it may of revealed a little too much, thankfully it’s in Japanese though!

Oh and btw, to the people above saying it’s 11 years later which makes Andy 11 years older, not necessarily. Frankenstein (1931), and Bride of Frankenstein (1935), are 4 years apart, but set immedietly after, as in later on that night after the first. It’s probably 9-10 years later in the TS world.

Don’t forget Robot, Snake, and Troll. If anyone can read the names on the wall, that might also help.
Might be a spoiler to some>> The major plot element that’s revealed here is that Woody turns his back on the rest of the gang (probably due to loyalty to Andy), and ends up elsewhere. The rest of the toys realize their mistakes as they’re treated very rough (Rex even lost his tail!), and try to escape. They are foiled by an unknown force, which encourages Woody to come back to their aid, which we don’t know how that goes over yet. It appears as though Woody’s hat is an indicator that he’s been defeated, but he’s seen without his hat in the pullstring scene…

That trailer was AMAZING. It looks 10 times better then the one we got. Makes the movie look so much more epic. Ive gotten to aa crazy point past anticipation for this one

One of my friends who took japanese for three years was able to translate this much, although she paraphrased some too. There might be spoilers so be warned.

[spoil]The narrator begins with “From Disney Pixar studios, the ones who brought you these loveable characters, etc…A new story begins” and the Toy Story Logo appears. At 0:38, they’re questioning where Andy put them. In the trunk, when Jessie yells at them, she’s saying Andy has new toys now (meaning he got rid of them or she is refering his adult appliances and toys). At 0:47, when Woody runs away, he’s saying that he’s going to return to Andy. My friend would guess Buzz and the others are arguing they should stay. At 1:45, Woody says he needs to find/help his friends. At 1:36 Rex says, “what are we gunna do?!” and/or why would Andy leave us?(She was a little iffy on that part). then buzz and jessie tell them the doors are all locked it’s probably. mrs. potato head says, “What are we gunna do?!” again. At 1:01 Lotso is saying something like “this is who you’ll be living with” and then he says Ken will show them their new home.[/spoil][/spoiler]
I also noticed the car poster andy has above his bed is different than the car poster he had in the original trailer and the camera angle is closer to woody in this scene than it was before.

What?! I want more!

I wish there will be a cliffhanger screening at my college, but sadly there won’t be.

The Japanese trailer is the closest I’m gonna get to a cliffhanger screening since my college isn’t on the cliffhanger list. :frowning:
