Official Teaser/Trailer Discussion

That actually brings up something that confuses me now about the ending of Toy Story 2 about Andy’s mom because you think she would have to wonder where he got Jessie and Bullseye. She would know that she didn’t buy them like Andy thought, they just appeared in his room one night and unless she doesn’t keep track of his toys she would have never seen them before. That makes it interesting that Andy kept them all those years without his mom questioning him about it.

Another Cars reference in TS3

Sharp eye, Bryko!

I don’t know if this has been asked, but after rewatching the trailer, I don’t understand under what circumstance Andy would be talking about Woody being brave and not giving up on you and all that. Is he telling his mum about how he imagined Woody’s personality would be, and Woody overheard him? Or is it all a dream by Woody of what he hopes Andy thinks of him? Cos’ nobody would praise their toy in such a manner. :open_mouth:

Andy was most likely describing Woody’s personality as he imagines when he plays with him.

Yeah, it sounds like they gave Buzz a new Spanish voice. It sounds less like him, but that just makes it funnier.

here’s what I think: as we’ve seen from one of the teasers, Andy has a “joking” kind of relationship with his sister Molly. Maybe in the beginning of the movie, Andy is just appreciating his good ol’ Woody doll, and Molly asks him why he cares so much about a toy. And as Andy is holding Woody, he explains to Molly that Woody is “no ordinary toy”. After all these years, I’m pretty sure Andy does think that of Woody. Of course, a toy isn’t really brave, but this is a metaphor of the adventures and memories he has had playing with Woody, and how he’s always reliable and never fails to be there for Andy (metaphorically). That’s what I think.

Is Funny. The new spanish Buzz´s voice is quite similar to the original spanish versions from 1 & 2… I still hope to hear him in the V.O

I think he’s talking to a kid, one younger than molly, but old enough to appreciate him like Andy did and not abuse toys like the daycare kids.

A commenter on Upcoming Pixar discusses the Japanese reaction to the trailer;

I just saw a TS3 “Movie Surfers” segment on Disney Channel, and I swear they showed a clip they absolutely should not have shown! As in “something that has to be from very very very near the end of the movie.” I can tell I’m going to have to make a decision about now, either to stop watching any TS3 stuff, or end up getting majorly spoiled. (Not that I haven’t been majorly spoiled on past movies and still loved them.)

What was it?! Haha, I love finding out stuff like this.

What they showed on Movie Surfers: [spoil]They are in Andy’s Room. (Honestly, I don’t remember if we saw anyone else in this bit besides Woody & Buzz) Buzz says something like, “You’ll know where to find us, Cowboy,” and Woody gives Buzz a “tip of his hat” salute in reply. It doesn’t sound like much on paper, but there was a definite “emotional” vibe. My instant assumption was that this is Woody and Buzz saying goodbye to each other at the end of the movie, as Woody is going away with Andy and the rest of the toys are staying behind at Andy’s house.[/spoil]

Someone else has probably seen this and knows that my guess is completely wrong, but that’s how I took it.

That’s a pretty big scene…but if you’re upset that you saw that, it’s probably not exactly what you expect. More things happen after that, to say the least.

Now I’m gonna be watching Disney Channel nonstop…

Hmm that does seem like something big. I’m hoping that scene isn’t what I think it is. But of course there is suppose to be alot of surprises in this movie so it’s probably something else entirely.

Speaking of Movie Surfers, is the Toy Story 3 episode coming out soon? I’m hoping to record it if I can unless I have to wait for some random commerical.

K, I’ve been flipping through the channels on Disney and Disney XD to see if I could catch that clip that Karly05 was talking about and it looks like they will be showing a sneak peek of Toy Story 3 on Sunday at 8(might be different in other areas), during a new episode of that show Sonny with a Chance. No idea if it’ll show anything new, but you never know.

Time to set that show to record.

The Movie Surfers segment I saw ran this morning just before 6 am CDT, after Imagination Movers and before Handy Manny (hey, it’s more fun than watching the morning news!).

KarmaWolf: I’m guessing it’ll be Meet Ken, but I’ll tune in anyways.

karly05: I’ll be watching Disney Channel tonight and I’ll post if I find any time that it played. I hope they just post it on the Disney Channel site soon anyway.

That would be uber-disappointing if that was actually it. The worst part is that it actually sounds logical. But then again, why would they ever air a clip of that importance?

Look again to see if Mrs. Potato Head has both eyes. If it takes place during the first part of the movie, then she only has one.

Ok I was just about to turn off the tv and I saw the clip that Karly05 was talking about!

First off there is some new footage that I saw. As you can expect… it’s amazing!

(Be wary of this though, I know some of you don’t want to be spoiled with more new footage. Even though with some of this, I don’t think it’s much to worry about.)

The ones that I remember off the top of my head are:

[spoil] After the kids left the room, Buzz stands up and says “I don’t remember playtime being that strenuous”, or something like that.

It looks like it shows a few scenes of the toys trying to escape. There was one where it looked like Buzz was opening a vent of some kind like a garbage shoot. Woody says “Great going Buzz”, and all the toys smile.

There was another shot of Buzz, Jessie and the rest of Andy’s toys(in the daycare), waving for some reason, but they looked happy.

One of the clips showed Ken and Barbie cuddling on Lotso’s dump truck. (Maybe the toys were waving at them?)

It showed the clip that Karly05 mentioned, but it looked more like Woody and Buzz were happy. Buzz said with a smile “You know where to find us, Cowboy”, and Woody simply tipped his hat and smiled back.

Tom Hanks and Tim Allen were also in it. It showed some very quick and cool footage of (what looks like), them in a recording session together. Tim Allen also mentioned the new characters. Both Tom Hanks and Tim Allen mentioned that the movie will keep you at the edge of your seats and that it’ll be fun.

[/spoil]

The clip Karly05 mentioned was shown pretty quick so it’s hard for me to tell what was going on, but it’s probably something big or nothing too big at all. For those of you who have seen the clip, you know what I’m talking about.

If you want to see the clip then I recommend keeping the tv on the Disney channel and wait till the commercial pops up. For me it’s been on all day and I just now caught it as I’m getting ready to go to bed. The other clips I saw was just some Toy Story rap and a commercial talking about a sneak peek at TS3 on Sunday, which most likely will be the Meet Ken clip.

I wanna see the clip again, but the only way that’s gonna happen is if it’s on the internet soon, or if I catch it again on Disney.

I just caught it at 5:50 AM EST. I guess it only plays at ridiculous times.

Anyway, the new footage was great, especially the scene of Buzz doing acrobatics to open the vent. And I’m pretty sure the “controversial” scene is actually a spoiler, but you can barely tell just from that brief moment, it goes by so quick.

In that scene, I also noticed [spoil]Jessie’s arm coming out of a cardboard box in the background.[/spoil]
