Aww you beat me to the punch. I was gonna point out the Totoro doll. Haha. I assume that they put it in the film as a nod to Hayao Miyazaki, whom John Lasseter greatly admires. Also, Miyazaki’s films (including My Neighbor Totoro) are distributed in the states by the Walt DIsney Company. I think this is my favorite easter egg by far. I’m a huge Totoro fan, and Pixar easter eggs are another one of my passions.

Okay anyways, where to begin with this? There were so many short clips that I had a hard time figuring out what was going on, and yet the characters shone though anyway. I was getting skeptic for a bit, but I knew Pixar would prove me wrong, and they did. Like, the next day. This is gonna be AWESOME.

I disagree with the theory about everybody else getting put in the attic. Yeah, there’s Andy’s speech about Woody, but you’ve also got Buzz’s line about the group sticking together. I think Woody is going to have to make some sort of tough choice related to this as the film goes on. Maybe it’s Andy or his friends?
Also, I’m wondering about Barbie. One clip shows her totally falling for Ken and another shows her… slapping him? Ken seems like a possible baddie too. If that’s the case, who is she gonna side with in the end? I mean, yeah, she’s a long time good guy and good over evil and all, but… It’s BARBIE AND KEN.
Also, anybody getting kinda a murder mystery vibe? With the phone call and Potato head’s incident? Maybe everybody slowly starts vanishing. O___O[/spoil]
…Or I’m totally off on everything like I was on WALL-E. Except I totally called [spoil]the plant being the McGuffin[/spoil] SO HA. I bet if my record is steady, at least one thing in that giant set of paragraphs is right. And I know what it is too; it’s tat the movie is gonna be awesome. 
Totoro Cameo! 
Yes! This! I’ actually on a bigger-screened version of that computer. It’s so weird and cool at the same time seeing one it in the trailer. xD
Oh, and almost forgot! This is going to look AMAZING in IMAX. I can tell already!
OH those toys are so DEAD! Whatever they did to Potato Head, I so hope they get their just desserts!!

I noticed that Totoro is in there! My boyfriend likes Toy Story, but he loooooooooves Studio Ghibli films. The minute he sees totoro… he’s gonna geek out. XD I’ll probably be back later to discuss what I found in the trailer (easter eggs), but I might be leaving in a bit so I kinda cant.
I was about to point out Totoro, but you guys beat it to me.
I surprised that you guys didn’t see Ray from Finding Nemo on one of the shelves.

Wow, great eye! You all amaze me with your lightning speed trailer analysis!
I love how Pixar creates such a depth to their film, from the story and characters to the little references like this one - amazing!

[spoil] Lotso finally speaks! That voice sounds perfect for a talking bear (I had a feeling that the voice on the phone may have actually been Ken). Not quite sure what his motives are yet, but obviously he comes off as very friendly when they first meet him. I also guess that the cane might just be because he’s old and had been in the daycare for a long time.
The Triceratops seems to be a girl character. Call me crazy, but maybe she becomes a love interest for Rex in a Woody+Bo Peep or Jessie+Buzz kind of way (I know, it’s not easy to picture Rex with a girlfriend is it?).
I got a laugh out of Ken’s line in the UK trailer about not being a girl’s toy.
Notice in the clip where Lotso says “You’ve got a play date with destiny!” that he has Buzz with him, looking somewhat evil. This brings me back to that rumor mentioned here before, which I still believe comes about after Buzz accidentally crashes and gets reset, making him lose his memory.
That nagging question we all had about Mrs. Potato Head’s missing eye now makes sense: it’s a plot-device for later in the film.[/spoil]
It also surprising (though not too surprising) to see that Andy’s still attached to his toys. Of course we all know that Woody is special to him and that he was going to take him to college, but more than that the fact that he was looking for all of his old toys and not just Woody. It’s clear now from the short clip that he just wanted to keep the rest of his toys stored away in the attic and come back for them. [spoil]And when he says that “The thing that makes Woody special is that he’d never give up on you.” it shows just how much his toys really mean to him.[/spoil] I almost get the feeling that this is going to end kind of like The Brave Little Toaster when I think of that along with what was mentioned about the toys being in a junkyard.
I cannot wait for Toy Story 3 to come out!
I have a feeling that line from Andy was strictly in Woody’s imagination or dream or something. otherwise why would he need to say that to anyone? especially in that tone? there seem to be quite a bit of fantasy sequences sprinkled in here. if their not all fantasy then I have to say, some of the voice acting and/or writing might be a bit off.
Is anyone else getting a [spoil]Hot Fuzz vibe from the Daycare Center? I guess that the Mob ideas also works, but this seems more like a “Town With A Dark Secret” trope than anything else to me.
And Lotso is totally tempting Buzz to the darkside.[/spoil]

Totally getting the mob feeling from the daycare toys…especially that baby doll that throws Mr. Potato head in the sandbox. Anyone notice his stance and the tattoos on his arms? He just seems like the ‘bodyguard’ of the gang to me

Yeah, I also think that’s the same doll’s head as Babyface. Only difference is that the head is completely bald while Sid’s doll had it’s hair shaven off.
I found the new version for the toy story 3 Barbie doll on sale in a spanish store! But I cán´t understadn why first in Spain and not in the States as is ussual.
