It’s insane how many new characters are popping up in this movie in addition to the already high character count.

thanks for clearing that up for me. Yeah, I have 3 different versions of the trailer downloaded now, and am driving my family and friends nuts with my non-stop chatter about it-it’s fun 
btw…that unicorn’s rly cute. Looks like a beanie baby (i know it’s not) but it and Lotso both look so soft. I love how realistic they look
I hope the quality of the movie isn’t brought down from excess characters. when that happens you tend to get results like X-men 3, or revenge of the Fallen.
not that I’m comparing Bay to Unkrich by any means, but sometimes too many characters means everyone’s screen time gets spread too thin.

I’m thinking that most of these characters won’t actually be that important in the story. For example, the peas will probably only have a couple of line but spend most of their time in the background. There were a bunch of mutant toys in Sid’s room, for example, but only a few were very important.

Yeah, same here! they’d be cool together, I can just imagine their antics. and though it’s hard to picture, I can see a definite friendship between that Triceratops and Rex. Judging by the instant message she got when Woody was trying to look up a map… they’d be great together
Good point. Especially reminding me of the “Sid’s room” toys; very developed toys, yet exclusive to one part of the movie. Makes sense that we’re getting a lot of new faces in “3,” since it takes place in a Day Care and all.
Just curious…in the scene where Woody is at the computer looking for maps, and the Triceratops’ IM comes in…I wonder where he is?
Are those water/food bowls on the floor by the door in the background? It looks like a kitchen/office-but I wonder whose? just an observation-but seeing as how Mr. Pricklepants is there too…it’s probably not Andy’s house
Was anyone else slightly disappointed that Mr. Pricklepants wasn’t featured in the new trailer? I was really hoping to see more of him by the time this came out.
Yeah, we only got to see him briefly with Woody, but so far the only thing we’ve heard from his voice is just that “I’m trying to stay in character!” line.
Me too…I’m starting to get the idea that he might not be a daycare toy? Seeing as how he was with Woody at the computer etc.
Also…the one clip we hear him in, he has an accent right? that sounds somewhat like the one that talks to Woody over the phone?
Exactly. In TS2, there were only 4 MAIN new toys, each with just enough screen time to make you love/hate/think is cool. But now there’s like 10. I’m hoping they don’t forget about the existing caracters. EX: BUZZ and WOODY. They’re the stars, I really hope it shows, like in TS1.
I also noticed that the Spanish trailer didn’t include the IM scene, so any Spanish fans of the movie would have to watch our version to see that scene. 
Sorry if someone already put this theory out there, but I just took another look at this screenshot:
and it had me thinking that the toys need to reset Buzz, not because he had a fall (like the first full trailer suggested), but rather because something goes wrong with Buzz as this new shot (from the recent trailer) suggests:
In the first picture, he doesn’t look knocked out - he looks more on the angry side, and the other toys look like they’re holding him down with some force…
Then of course, Buzz is reset successfully… well more or less.
That reminds me, do we have any guesses to how that whole episode will play out in the Spanish dub of the film?
I’d like to know where they got buzz’s instructions from.
Or maybe Buzz is reset on two different occasions? Once by some not-so-nice toys, and then a second time by Andy’s toys?
For instance, Buzz might be spying on their little gambling meeting, they reset Buzz, take control of him more or less, and then he’s reset by Woody and the gang, but accidentally in Spanish…
And yes, where DID they get instructions? Maybe they printed them out from the Internet? … though it does look a lot like a booklet…
Heres something I thought of. Do you think the events of the previous movies will be refrenced in this one? such as when in Toy Story 2 Buzz mentioned when Sid strapped to the rocket and when Woody was thrown out of the back of the moving truck. Also, im sure this wont happen, but wouldent it be interesting to see how Sid ended up? maybe even Prospecter.
Here’s my guess. The new trailer suggest that there’s a band of toys who cause trouble, consisting of Ken and various other toys from the daycare… They bring up Buzz and ponder if he’d be a good recruit to their club. Perhaps they try to catch Buzz and they reset him to be evil? And Maybe later in the movie Woody and co. try to fix Buzz, but accidentally switch him to the Spanish option.
That’s just my guess. What do you think?
