Oh mah gawd! Randall is dead!

arlingtoncemetery.net/drbogg … t-2006.jpg

I tried so hard not to laugh at this… An I going to hell?

Not funny.

That’s the grave of a real person.

I dunno about ‘Hell’, but you’re bound to be haunted.

Enjoy.

Oh my goodness! What an intresting find there. I didn’t laugh, but I was surprised. I don’t think you’ll go to the place of eternal fire ectoplasmic.

That was hilarious! (plz don’t hurt me FONY! :astonished: )

Hell? No.
<><

That was random/freaky/strange all in one package.
How did you even find this?

A bit unnecessary…

…but funny anyway!

Well, I didn’t think so.

I kinda agree with Rachel, when I first saw it this morning I wanted to post, but I was speechless for my above reasons.
I’m surprised lizardgirl hasn’t commented on this, though.

Mmyeah… I think so too. It’s neither offensive nor interesting to me but unnecessary, IMO, yeah.

To me, it was just one of those, “oh…that’s kinda neat.”

After so many years of obsessing over Randall, whenever I see his name anywhere, even if it’s just his first name, it always attracts my attention somehow (it’s so annoying every time I’m flicking through channels and there’s one channel that always shows ‘Randall and Hopkirk’ :stuck_out_tongue:).

So this is certainly a coincidence! But, since both the names ‘Randall’ and ‘Boggs’ are real, then it was bound to happen that someone else has it (albeit with the addition of Dwight).

What I’m wondering is why someone took a photo of it in the first place…I mean, who takes photos of graves in their spare time?

I think they did it for a report or something! I just linked the picuter though, so I really don’t remember XD I’ve always been facsinated with old (and I mean OLD) cemetaries for some reason…but I never take pictures. Or touch the stones.

I’m glad SOMEONE doesn’t think any less of me

Apparently it’s a common thing for people to do to remember their loved ones. I only see it as a grim reminder though …

FONY- Yeah, I’d sort of rather have a photo of what they looked like when they were alive, rather than a picture of their gravestone…

A lot of people take photos of graves for records. This is one way, after all, for a person to trace their ancestors and family history. When I had to do this as part of a college history project, my dad and spent a lot of time tromping around in long-forgotten cemetaries in the middle of nowhere, taking photos and carbon rubbings of weathered headstones. In this case, the grave is that of an American serviceman; that is why he’s buried at Arlington National Cemetary. I’m sure that every grave there is carefully maintained and is kept on record, including with photos, since these are the final resting places of those who were willing to give their lives for the rest of us. I don’t really find it disturbing, but I don’t find it amusing, either, or that odd.

This isn’t the first time I’ve come across the name, “Randall Boggs”, as a real person living in the Human World. I’ve found newspaper articles mentioning various individuals, including a 12-year-old in British Columbia, Canada, who earned a Black Belt, a Presbyterian minister in Maryland, a 19-year-old crack dealer in Georgia, and quite a slew of Irishmen in the “Old Country”, where that surname originated. I saw at least TWO such graves, located in the above-ground St. Louis Cemetary in New Orleans, bearing that name, which was during my pre-Monsters, Inc. trip to that city, and I can tell you that there are just about as many Boggs as there are Boudreaux’s in south Louisiana, thanks to a large influx of Irish settlers in the 1800’s. Given those numbers, statistically there’s bound to be a Randall or two among 'em!

A tad off-topic, but back before the movie came out, when there was a lot of internet “buzz” on it(not all of it accurate at all, since many early reports described Randall as a “centipede” or even an “earwig” :frowning: ), I do recall reading information that gave Randall a middle initial, “J”. I only saw that in early reports; there’s no mention of it in anything that was released once the movie came out, or in the movie itself, but I know a lot of folks pretty much accept it as “canon” that Randall has a middle name, and it starts with “J”, though what that “J” stands for is anyone’s guess.

pitbulllady

That ain’t funny.

Hey, you’ve got 113 posts, azzstar! Cool! Azz’s 113th post? A113! xDDD

Boy, I love that number.

Anyway, if I offended anyone by saying that it was funny, I apologize. I guess it’s funny to some people, but not funny to most people. I think that picture was either photoshopped or a very strange coincidence.

LOL. Now i have 114 post. So now i’m A114

I dont find it funny but I do find that as an interesting coincidence. Finding Randall can happen, but finding a Randall Boggs? Not so easy.
