Hi, I just found this original Jessie doll going through some toys.
I haven’t been able to find much information, specifically regarding value, on this original toy.
I don’t have pants for the toy, but I’ve got the shirt and hat.
If anyone can fill me in on what this might be worth, or any other information regarding it, please let me know.
why is the year on 1987? toy story 2 came out in 1999…
I thought the movie character was based on this Mattel Doll from 1987…
Maybe this is the wrong forum for the question.
Most likely the torso is reappropriated from a different doll. When TS2 came out they most likely used a doll body they already had sculpted and just molded her a new head. Toy companies do this kind of short cut all the time.
Jessie fashion dolls sold in 1999 and later mostly used the 1987 Skipper doll body, from the Barbie line. kattisdolls.net/facemolds/skip87.htm
This means you can redress Jessie in Skipper’s clothes and vice versa. -Omar
Nope, Jessie wasn’t based on any specific doll.
This looks to be the exact same model I have! She’s wearing different clothes here, but if you just found her lying around I guess that’s not surprising. Shame I lost mine’s hat.
