So… first of all, I don’t really know if I should be creating a new topic just because of my trip to France, so, to all the moderators, feel free to move this to a place you think that is more appropriate, and sorry in advance. ![]()
Well, as you may have guessed, I’m going to talk about my trip to Paris. But as I’m feeling really lazy, I’ll do a little copy-and-pasting from my deviantArt journal… xD
What better place to dream… than in Paris?
I believe only now I understand the true meaning of this Ratatouille quote… ^^
So, yeah, I’m back from what was, without a doubt, the best trip in my entire life… No words, I repeat, no words can describe Paris and how wonderful it is. ![]()
So, to start, case you’re wondering what the title means, it’s “Paris, city of dreams”… I just hope I spelled that right, my French is kinda rusty… XD
Secondly, a note about the pictures I took there… Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take as many as I wanted to… You see, I borrowed the camera from a friend of my brother, but it was kinda old, and the batteries were kinda crazy… So, I ended up taking only about 190 pictures, when I could’ve taken much more…
And I’ll admit, I’m a better drawer than a photographer, so some of those pics aren’t very good… ^^; Oh well, I also still can’t show them to you, but I will as soon as I get the chance, OK? ![]()
Now, about the trip itself… Gosh, you have no idea how beautiful Paris is… I’ve always dreamed of going there ever since I was a little girl, but the sensation of actually being there… It’s just something that words cannot describe… ^^ I still remember when we first arrived in Paris… When I stepped out of the bus, I think my first thought was “Wow… I can’t believe I’m actually here!” … Seriously, it was a marvelous sensation…
So, moving on! xD
We visited many places that weren’t in Paris itself, but I’ll only talk about my favorite ones… in chronological order. ![]()

Notre Dame de Paris
Ahh, yes, the famous cathedral that we all know from The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
But I tell you one thing, I never realized how beautiful it is until I visited it. It looks so majestic on the outside, with those huge towers, doors, windows and statues, and the inside has this really mystic atmosphere, and I absolutely loved the rose windows, they were gorgeous.
While inside, there was one point when the organ started playing, which contributed even more to increase that mystic and even magical sensation… The sound sent chills up my spine…! xD And the sound of the bells!.. My God, it was awesome… ^^

Eiffel Tower
Ahhh, the tower… If you think it is beautiful in photos, you don’t even imagine how it is live. ^^ It’s so gorgeous and huge!
I wasn’t even able to take a decent photo of it, but oh well…
But you know what, it looked like that wherever we would go, bad weather would always be following us… Why? We were suppose to go to the highest point of the tower, but because of all the wind and rain, we went only to the second floor…
Oh well! But I tell you one thing, if the view was already spectacular there, I don’t even imagine how it must be on the higher level…
^^ Hehe, and I bought there this really cute keychain with a tiny Eiffel tower on it… xD ![]()
Bateau-mouche ride on the Seine
Oh my god… it was so beautiful!.. It was just too bad that my camera was out of battery at the moment…
I tell you guys, Paris may be beautiful by day, but at night… the city becomes magical… ^^ The Eiffel tower was gorgeous with its flashing lights and searchlights… Man, I have no words to describe it… ^^ The Pont Alexander III and the Cathedral of Notre-Dame were also wonderful… And guess what? You remember that scene in Ratatouille were Linguini was about to throw Remy into the river? Well, we passed by that exact same spot…!
I just felt so frustrated that I wasn’t able to take a picture!
I’m so very sorry… ![]()
Anywho… After the boat ride, we took a little bus ride around the city, mainly the Champs-Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe, the Moulin Rouge, and then… I had the most spectacular view of the Eiffel tower… ^^ Then again, I cursed myself for not being able to take a picture… But I have some friends who did, so I’ll try to show one of them to you, because no words can describe how beautiful it looked… To me, that sight was almost beyond all reason, you know what I mean? ^^
Tuesday, March 11th
Disneyland Resort Paris
Need I say more? It was a magical day, I felt 10 years old again…
Too bad that it rained in the afternoon… But that was no reason for not having fun!
We went to a lot of places: Alice’s Curious Labyrinth (I saw Alice and the Mad Hatter!
), the Space Mountain: Mission 2 ride, Sleeping Beauty’s Castle (goooorgeous!), the I’ts a small world boat ride, the Phantom Manor, the Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril ride, the Big Thunder Mountain ride… oh well, I could go on… XD But the one thing that I fell really sorry is the fact that I missed the Once Upon a Dream parade… it was the biggest parade and I missed it!
Man, I felt so bad… Oh well, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that I had a lot of fun, I saw lots of Disney characters (Goofy was so adorable!
), and I bought a Remy plushie!
: He’s so cute! ^^
And you know what they say about saving the best for last? That’s what happened. At the very end of the day, there was this event called Candleabration. It was sort of a ceremony celebrating the 15 years of the park. My god, it was wonderful… Sleeping Beauty’s castle was being illuminated with many lights of different colors, and at the end, on top of each tower of the castle was a Disney character holding a candle. They lit up 15 candles, ending up on the very top of the castle, with Tinkerbell. It was absolutely gorgeous… ^^
These were my favorite places, but I visited many more, but if I talked about each one of them it would take me forever… XD
But now… I’ll start blathering about Ratatouille.
I just have to. If you guys have seen the movie but never visited Paris, I gotta tell you one thing: the Paris you see in the movie is exactly like the real thing. Jeez, these Pixar guys never cease to amaze me… they studied every single detail so carefully… looks like only now I can see that, because I was there.
^^ Oh, and I visited the Montmartre section of Paris, it was pretty cool! And that’s where Linguini lives!
XD
Oh well, I think that’s enough of me talking. When I get the pictures, I’ll post them up as soon as I can, OK? ![]()
