Interesting experiment! Reminds me of the film Timecode or an episode of 24 for its visual and audio cacophony! What program did you use and how did you do the split-screen effect (preferably step-by-step?). 
This kind of thing is done using Sony Vegas. All you really do is just put the clips together and shrink them down to that size.
Okey-doke. I need to get Sony Vegas… keep it up!
