Congratulations to the entire Pixar team for earning all of those nominations! They certainly deserve them…
bawpcwpn - The video game received a nomination, as well? That’s awesome!
– Mitch
Yeah but THQ got that nom so you can consider it a Pixar related one but nothing more. Vg nominations usually go to the distrbutor/producer of the game.

clabot2700 - Ah, I see. Well, it’s still rather impressive all the same.
– Mitch
Yes although the award is for THQ Inc., they wouldn’t have been able to make it without the story and character designs from Pixar. I consider that a win for THQ and and Pixar.
Employee’s from Pixar did get nomination’s so that isn’t really the entire studio but that individual person. I consider the THQ creation of Pixar to be an extension of Pixar’s productions, and I hope you do too.
EDIT: They are related really when you get down to it. Let’s look at the Family Tree of LucasFilm
Consider them brothers, except Pixar is the one that was put up for adoption. Pixar then goes on to get married to long time partner, the Walt Disney Company in 2006 after a bit of a rift saw them take a break. They realised they were meant for each other, but only under a few terms. They have only had two legitimate children, Ratatouille and Cars so far, but have a few more in the making. THQ Still lives at home with Dad (George Lucas), even though he is doing very well in life by himself. THQ has had a few kids, but is a single parent, and the children are highly interactive and have very good voices. Pixar doesn’t want to delve into that area without some help so consider THQ to be the surrogate parent for these “interactive” children of Pixar’s. The arrangement works quite well actually.
Anyway, back on topic.
bawpcwpn - Exactly. Both parties win either way, so the nomination is advantageous for each company.
I never thought of it that way before, though now that you mentioned it I have to agree. ![]()

Congratulations Brad Bird! And Michael Giacchino! And Patton Oswalt! And…everyone who got nominated! Wow, fourteen nominatiions! For a while, I thought it was for the Oscars
, but I knew my mind was playing tricks on me, but the Annie Awards are great, too!
Go Pixar!
Best of luck to the Pixar picks for the 35th Annual Annie Awards! ![]()
I’m very excited about Your Friend the Rat being a nominee for Best Animated Short Subject, especially because it doesn’t qualify for an Oscar nomination.
Pertaining to the nominees for Voice Acting in an Animated Feature Production, all I hafta say is, brace yourselves for a Dash rant. ![]()

13?! Dude!
13 is an unlucky number though. Good luck, Ratatouille! I’ll wear a horseshoe around my neck for you!
I haven’t played the video game though, and don’t plan to. Video games based on movies usually, well, suck.
kageri: If 13 was an unlucky number, there would be no United States of America. (you’re kidding, though, right
)
Or very lucky, depending on where your from.
With the exception of GoldenEye 007!
I think Ratatouille will pick up Best Animated Feature, and best writer. And possibly best score.
Congrats for Ratatouille getting so many noms.
I hope it wins for music, storyboarding, writing, directing, and just about everything else. We’ll have to keep a close eye on if it wins the best animation award.
I would have liked to have seen Lou Romano get nominated for his voice of Linguini because he added so much to that character, but I’m glad the rest of the voice actors did. They all did a super job.

kageri - I have the Ratatouille DS game, and it ain’t that great. =(
It kinda bugs me that Peter O’Toole, of all people. didn’t get nominated for Best Voice Actor, but oh well…
kageri - Actually, I own the Ratatouille PlayStation2 game and it’s really pretty cool! I love it, in any case. ![]()

Congrats and the best of luck to those that got nominated. I hope Pixar sweeps this awards again.
I was wondering… why was Mike’s new car eligible for Oscar (and nominated) if it was released only on DVD? (wasn’t it?)
Speaking of shorts, i’m sorry for the wonderful mix of YFTR, but this year I’m for the Goofy short ![]()
Congratulation to Pixar for Ratatouille, but also for Surf’s up… I think I should watch it…
btw… WHERE’S PETER O’TOOLE?!
But there’s Patton Oswalt, i hope he will win.
If you are reading this on December 4, 2007, go to http://www.imdb.com/poll/ and vote for today’s poll. The question for December 4 is: Of this year’s nominees for the Annie Award’s Best Animated Feature, which is your favorite?*
I chose Ratatouille.

I haven’t heard of the Annies, but at the end of the day, the more awards Pixar recieves, the better! So, congratulations to Pixar for that pretty astonishing number of nominations. ![]()
I totally agree with you for sentimental reasons, but I got some technical observations to make:
a) individual nominations to studio employees are also ascribed to the employing studio
b) sorry but Thq Inc. is not a Lucas spinoff-it was founded by Jack Friedman a toy industry veteran-the diagram you show is flawed you should read THX Inc. instead of THQ Inc.
Anyway Pixar’s Ratatouille ruled this year Annies and that’s the most important thing.

Edited. I added an “end quote” to bawpcwpn’s quote in your post. – Mitch
X and Q eh? I stand corrected. You gotta admit it was a nice story though ![]()
