Pixar mentioned in "The Office"

Did anyone catch The Office last night? If so, you should have caught the Pixar mention.

Okay, so the episode goes, all members from Dunder Mifflin’s (sp?) Scranton PA branch are at Jim and Pam’s wedding. At the Bachelor party, it cuts to a scene where Michael Scott (Steve Carrell) is trying to pick up a girl at a bar, and he says:

“Toy Story, Finding Nemo, UP, I bawled the entire time. I canNOT watch Pixar.”

Just thought someone might find this interesting, haha.

Yeah, I caught that. I almost mentoined it in the “everyday sighitns of pixar stuff” thread. That’s so Michael, though.

Score 1 for Pixar! If anyone can get the episode title, I would be ever so grateful.

I don’t know the exact episode name, but Myspace apparently has the episode(s) online.

I just don’t know if you have to have a Myspace account or not to view them, but hey.

Should actually be up on Hulu. or NBC’s site now, if not soon.

I don’t watch The Office, but it’s great for Pixar to get a mention in such a well-known TV show, especially when the quote is so true!

Haha! Nice. And actually, that’s different compared to the usual Pixar references I see. I rarely see them used as a pick-up line

The episode is called Niagara.

It’s actually not the first time that Pixar is mentionned by Michael Scott. They did a promo for the 4th season (two years ago) where he was saying something about Ratatouille.
Interestingly enough, Ratatouille was also mentionned this year in Parks and Recreation, a show by the same creators, which airs just before The Office. It was in an episode called The Stakeout.

Yeah! I saw it on Parks too. It was the same actress who played Karen from The Office, and she said something about how her ex used to always guess the ending of every movie they went to see, and he would always guess that the main character had been dead the whole time. XD I like to imagine that he probably said “I told you!” every time he saw Gusteau

It’s funny because although that show is great, I don’t watch it that much and I’m really glad I caught that Pixar joke when I DID happen to watch that day.

Another mention of Pixar in the October 29th episode of the Office, called Koi Pond.

Michael Scott falled into a koi pond, and this is how his employees make fun of him :

Creed : Hey boss, did you find Nemo ?
Michael : I can name Pixar movies too… Toy Story.
Oscar : Don’t you mean, Koi Story ?

I didn’t see it but I heard about it. Thanks Office!

I’ve only just gotten into the US version, and that’s saying a lot since I was a devotee of the UK version (more subtle humour) but I guess it’s ok to like both versions. That Michael Scott line does sound really funny. I’ll have to watch that ep one time. Sounds like the creators are Pixar fans.
