Toy Story Midway Mania is closing for renovations just two days after I arrive in August. I better get to Pixar Place quickly!
I would like to see some sort of Cars ride also. There is a lot of potential there! I guess Disney Parks already knows that though considering Cars World.
Do you know how long it will be closed for renovations? Because my family goes for our yearly trip in September, and I wanted to see the new mini-game they added, plus this will be my nephew’s first trip to Disney World and he is obsessed with Toy Story. So if it’s closed when we go, I’ll be mad.
have you been?
Yes! In 2008 do you like pixar place?
TOTALLY! Could use more rides but it has fantastic potential do you like the name?
Yes. I think it fits what other ride than toy story mania do you want at pixar place?
I’d totally love to see something Wall-E or Incredibles related. A Cars ride would be cool too what stuff do you want them to have at the pixar shop at pixar place?
I dunno… uh… more Jessie stuff? XD
I went there for my Orlando vacation in 2009, and I thought it was alright, but it could be vastly improved on. It was raining hard and I wasn’t able to take in every aspect of the scenery (besides at this point I wasn’t as big as a Pixar fan as I was today), but I got a pretty good impression of the area. It looked visually stunning, the only problem I have is that it felt much more like “Toy Story Land” then “Pixar Land”. I swear that the only thing there that was not Toy Story related was the Luxo lamp in the window (but I never even got to see it because it was temporarily closed ). If they make some new rides, it would eliminate this problem. i’ve heard about the Monsters, Inc. door roller coaster, and I’ve been waiting for a roller coaster from that scene since 2003! However, I think they should add something from a Pixar film that hasn’t been done yet. Like The Incredibles, Up, or Wall-E (my brain would explode). Seriously, whenever a Disney park announces a new Pixar ride, it’s always either Finding Nemo or Monsters, Inc. (with Toy Story, A Bug’s Life, and Cars being exceptions). Even if you don’t make a full fledged ride, you could at least have a small area or character statue dedicated to the unmentioned movies. At Epcot they redesinged the French restaurant by including an animatronic Remy as your waiter. It’s little details like that that leave an impression, not the 51st Finding Nemo undersea voyage ride created at a Disney park. It may sound like I’m nit-picking, but I loved the Pixar section at Hollywood Studios, and I can’t wait to return now that I’m a dedicated fan so that I can situate myself there the entire day. But please Disney, if you aren’t going to include Pixar characters in your other parks (Up characters in Adventureland, Wall-E characters in Tomorrowland, etc.) at least include them in Pixar Place. Thank you!
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I totally want to see a Pixar Place character restaurant. It would be a good way to get in all the other characters they haven’t found room for yet. Like at the moment, the only characters I saw there were Woody and Buzz in one little Toy Story themed room. With the restaurant, you could have all the other Pixar characters that walk around the parks.
Pixar Sightings at Walt Dinsey World.
Click the link for more photos (I will only post a few)! They aren’t all from the Pixar Studios section, but I think they are all from Hollywood Studios.
I Love PIXAR Place! I’ve never actually been there but I’ve done a virtual tour of it before (ie watching hours of youtube videos of the place) and I’ve also gotten to talk to a few of the Imagineers who got to design Toy Story Mania when I was at the Bay Area Maker Faire 2010.
For me, working at PIXAR is not my dream job. Designing conceptual models and rides for PIXAR Planet is.
