Pixar Podcast

Not to be rude or anthing, but are you an actual Pixarian? If so who are you? :laughing: { Sorry if this is a stupid question everyone already knows.}

Rachel - Heheh. Yeah, sorry about that. I’m one of those people who’s overly critical about themselves; one of those dudes who’s like, “No, you’re wrong! I suck!” (snigger) I should really change my attitude in that field.

Well, in any case, thank you! You think it sounds lovely? blushes <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/love2.gif” alt=“:loves:” title="In

I forgot to reply to the “video games” idea that you mentioned in your second-to-last post, but, yeah, I’d love to review some of the games. My sister and I have tons of Pixar-related computer and PlayStation 2 games, and we’re always buying the latest ones, so providing critique on them wouldn’t be a problem.

You have a barrel full of great ideas, but I think that this one would have to be my favorite. Now that’s something that I would participate in…

TAMATER - Don’t worry; I’m thinking the same thing. I was too chicken to ask, though.

– Mitch

I’d love to do a podcast with you and we could make it a weekly show or even a bi-weekly show. There is so much to talk about with what is going on in the world of Pixar and even the world of Disney. It’s an exciting time to be a Pixar Fan!

I couldn’t agree more. Hopefully, we can work something out.

This sounds like such a cool project! I agree, it’s a real shame about the delay of Radio Pixar and something more regular would be a good idea. I hope this project gets the go-ahead, since it’d be nice for members to be able to talk about their thoughts on Pixar outside the Fan Commentaries. It’d be brilliant if Mitch, TSS and Rachel, if you guys are involved because you all know about different aspects of Pixar and would make a Pixar Podcast very interesting and varied! And having guests would mean that the load would be shared and once again, you’d get different voices and opinions.

The folks here at Pixar Planet take pasion and excitement for Pixar to a whole other level. That’s why I wanted to see if anyone from here would want to do a postcast! If we keep the show going and keep it up to date…I might be able to pull some strings and get some guests from Pixar to join the show for interviews!

I have some interest in joining in.

Those are some neat ideas, rachel! They’d be fun not only to do, but also to listen to!

Among other things (editing? hosting?), I’d like to be involved in a discussion about the Toy Story 3d re-releases and their ramifications for storytelling, home video releasing, the ramp up to Toy Story 3 and future Pixar releases.

Depending on how much my time I have on my hands at the time, I would like to offer my services up to you all whether it be appearing in the podcast, or editing, or uploading it and whatnot.

Great idea guys

as I said, i will record and produce if you want me to.

As for recording the podcast, I am going to suggest the following things:

you each have a decent headset with a good microphone
you can talk to each other over skype, but each of you record your own line in

Then you upload your line in recording to the web and the editor can download them all. This means you get the best quality possible recording of each person, and the editor has a single track of audio for each person which makes it a lot easier to edit.

I agree about each person recording their own voice and having it edited that way. I’m going to be getting a domain name here shortly. I am thinking of turning it into a site about the History of Pixar as well as the podcast as we could grow in size with our listeners. A forum isn’t needed since we’ve got Pixar Planet! Would anyone like to write for the site too? We could cover Pixar based games all the way back from the SNES and original gameboy to the 360 and PS3.

I might be interested in doing some writing for the site, but not about the video games.

I have (albeit limited) skills in website creation, I am willing to write the site.

I was thinking we could cover the past of history and even go into their future. It wouldn’t just be the video games. Of course we’d cover the movies and everything that goes with it. Maybe the Art of books and so on.

I love the idea of having people on for a bit of a ‘quiz show’. That could work out really well and even get the listeners into the show even more!

I was thinking maybe we could just have a ‘count down’ to whatever the next Pixar movie would be…maybe even ‘the rest of disney’ and talk about the news with Pixar and Disney. A look back as we cover all the older Pixar stuff.

New shows could be talking about the latest trailers and talk about the movie once its been released. Sadly Pixar movies don’t release the same day all around the world so it will be like the excitement comes back to the show once its released all around the world.

Hmmm… If I were too be involved with the podcast, I may run into problems recording, so if you need help behind the scenes, I’d be more than willing to help out there! I’d also be willing to help write for the site too.

I’m working on getting a domain name right now. If anyone else has any idea(s) for a domain name feel free to share it with me.

Uh… so are we working on a website or a podcast?

I don’t mind it if you wanted to do a website, but remember that a podcast will take a lot of your time, especially if you are hosting, and making a website and adding content to it will all take a lot of time and energy as well. Don’t underestimate how much energy and planning a podcast will take, otherwise we’ll end up in the same boat as Radio Pixar. I also am a bit confused to exactly how a website will tie in with this podcast. It would probably be better to think of the domain name after you’ve figured out what the podcast is going to be called. Maybe it would also be a good idea to split up the website and podcast into separate projects so we can keep on track.

Also, I think aiming for a show every 3 weeks for the first, say, 5 episodes would be a good idea and then if we are all submitting content on schedule, then we could ramp it up to once every two weeks. But a regular show delivered on time every 3 weeks - one month is much better than aiming for a show every week and then getting burnt out and the project abandoned. I don’t want to seem like a downer, I’m just trying to be realistic here.

Glad you guys like my debating and quiz segment idea. Yeah, it will bring excitement to the program (hopefully), and we could invite other listeners who think they know more about Pixar to test out their skills, too. More community involvement is what we need, yep.

I am able to record my microphone, but I have trouble recording my line-in. When I try to click the option of “record what you hear” it’s blanked out. I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it. I do like that idea of recording our own voices separately to increase the quality of the audio, though. That will be one of the things we will have to sort out further along the line.

I agree and I shouldn’t bite off more than I can chew. The podcast is what’s on the top of my list. Some things are getting worked out, but hopefully there will be more information about the podcast in the next few days!
