Pixar summer internship 2013

Perhaps they used this week for going through resumes and next week call for interviews! I can only hope!

This is a great point and a possibility. There were probably a ton of apps for Marketing and PR seeing as how they had the least technical requirements. Those departments were probably like magnets for people just wanting to get in the door at Pixar.

If anything it is one way of looking at it while we struggle to keep our sanity!

I made mine as creative as possible to try and stand out. I mean they are going to go through a ton of these resumes at once. You are either going to have a lot of technical skills/experience or you made your resume stand out. I hope the extra mile to show who I am helps. I kept it professional but entertaining so it’s not just another resume that they are going through. I hope this give me a shot at getting a call. I would love to make a Youtube video of Tomo traveling to Pixar. <3

Oh man getting to sit him in the air plane seat and recording take off and stuff. I’m camera shy so I use my character to interact in videos with my friends and share my life with them being far away. I so very want this for myself to finally be able to grow. I still hope I get see a lot of people this summer from this forum!!!

We will more than likely hear next week. :3

How is everyone on this fine saturday?!

Hiiiiii! does anyone else feels like their heart will explode out of their chest everytime the phone rings? hahaha D: .
Tomo: I tried and made my cover letter creative too. Mine was really short, sweet and to the point. I hope I can also make a video of Angi going to Pixar!!
I just want to know > . <!!! lets hope we all know something by next week!

@angipauly I jump and run to the phone every time it rings! Last week I got a phone call and when I answered and the woman asked for me my heart almost exploded. Turned out though I got an interview for ANOTHER internship. Which is great, of course, but nothing beats Pixar!

the feeling is exhausting! I can’t concentrate at all :frowning: . I applied for another internship but I haven’t heard form them either (Bluesky)
It’s great you got a call from your other option!

Angi: yea I made my cover letter, résumé, and references all match with my character. I think if your going to do creative marketing. Really market yourself!

As for calls I am waiting with baited breath over this! I am sooooo nervous!

Been actually getting to relax this week. Classes concluded for the summer on tuesday, so I’ve just been using the rest of the week to relax and recharge before hoping head first into commission work on monday. STILL keeping my phone charged at all times by the off chance I get the call, or even the email, being afraid of checking the status of the application on their site. Just letting things come as they do. Best of luck to everyone still waiting for the word!

I’ve been having problems with my phone; apparently anytime someone tries calling me, my phone doesn’t ring and doesn’t even tell me they’ve called unless they leave a voicemail. I’m terrified this is going to happen when/if Pixar tries to call me. Hopefully they’ll leave a message! In the meantime, I seriously need to head over to Sprint…

Don’t worry if they want you they will find a way to contact you

They for sure would leave a message but I can understand your worry!

I know, or have at least read on FAQ’s, that Pixar offers housing for interns. Since I hope to get the post-production internship does anyone know if that one is included in the housing? I really hope so. By the way I live in Arizona so I obviously can’t commute.

mleh, waiting on another anxious week ( • ^ •

i’m still confused on whether they give us rejection letters or not (the internships besides PUP). because i can kinda recall reading somewhere that they don’t. I MAY BE WRONG. don’t take my word for it. my memory is blurred anyway (/π ∆ π) does anyone know for sure?

On a more positive note, I wish the best for everyone for the upcoming week! May is on its way~

I believe they do. I’m looking through google on housing for pixar internships and it seems like they generally provide it for most internship positions if not all.

katguu, if we both make it, I would love to collaborate art wise with you sometime

They provide housing for most internships. They are around the Emeryville area. We wont all be placed in the same complex but with in so much radius.

So my suggestion to anyone who gets in and finds out where they are living get up extra early to make sure the public transportation gets you there on time.

On that note… GOOD MORNING FORUMS! It’s Sunday, state side!

@ katguu and @Tomo Thanks! I thought so but I wanted to make sure. I’m pretty sure everyone gets rejection letters, they just might not come right away.

They do give out rejection letters otherwise lots of people couldn’t move on till the month of. We should expect to be hearing about calls next week. They might of been going over resumes for that whole department of marketing and public relations. I hope to get a call and a chance. Well time to start my good luck rituals today. XD

I have a lot of skills in the extra but not needed for Marketing. (Aka not required for the position.)I have illistrator, photoshop, and other skills. I made sure my résumé showed it the way I designed it. I used to do shading in vector.

Just hope that helps. Getting nervous again! :s
