Sorry! I totally know the feeling… Did you get the April 30th email? How did you submit your portfolio?
Everything that I’m reading about is for animation or like, traditional art. I’m lighting as well, and my boyfriend is look dev. Neither of us have heard anything. I was kind of thinking that it’s stuff that’s later in the pipeline, so maybe they’ll get to us last.
I’m also wondering because I’ve been tracking demo reel views on Vimeo, and it hasn’t been looked at in a while. But it’s a comfort to know that they are sending out rejections. It’s better to know that you’re out than to sit in limbo.
True, I agree! I have been tracking my views too. But I uploaded my reel to my online profile. So I don’t think that they will look at the vimeo one. My friends applied as well. One didn’t even get the email last week. The other hasn’t heard anything since Apil 30, same with me. Fingers crossed!
Ah, I didn’t know if it was maybe something where if you didn’t get the April 30th one, they had a problem receiving your reel? Like if you mailed it to them or something. I submitted my website, which is linked to Vimeo. So it should show up? I’m just so nervous.
They came to our school a few weeks ago, and she made it sound like they were starting reviews this week. If that’s the case, I’m not surprised they haven’t gotten through everyone yet. They were doing interviews, but unfortunately, only animation majors were invited to apply.
R_Marrujo, are your friends lighters too? I’ve heard that way fewer people apply to lighting and effects. So that’s promising? I’m just gonna keep assuming no news is good news. Definitely can’t hurt.
I applied for Disney modeling position and haven’t heard back yet. I also haven’t heard back from Sony either, but I believe it should be soon that they start sending out the result.
I applied for all the same ones as you. I heard from Disney on the 30th but nothing since from anyone. But if anyone does hear anything back from any company, if you could post something on here that would be awesome. Just so we can get a heads up.
WHERE DID ALL THIS NEWS COME FROM! haha
After I saw this I totally checked their twitter
@Meloncov You are one lucky guy, you must get all the inside info haha. Plus 900 for twelve is a lot better odds than I thought I’d have from the rumors I heard.
@Klam that sucks man, =( you should go treat yourself to a cheer up milkshake
also that’s actually super interesting to hear that they just go purely by reel for animation I’m surprised they don’t do at least a phone interview. Also Also I didn’t get the April 30th e-mail ether but if so many of you didn’t as well I’m sure it was just a glitch and hopefully not a ‘did not receive reel’ thing. There’s actually a part of me that enjoys the wait period because of awesome folks like yourselves! It sounds like we’re coming up on the end soon boys and girls! It’s been a fun ride =)
I thought Sony had already picked their interns. It says on their website that they’ll notify the candidates on May 1st anyway, unless there’s another internship that I’m not aware of.
Haven’t posted here before, didn’t even know there was a thread online to keep tabs on this. I applied for art and story and haven’t heard anything back at all yet. Although I’m a little nervous because my physical portfolio was a day late getting there, so I’m wondering if they just threw it out. I hope not!
Either way I’m keeping alert on it. It’s my last year/shot for an internship (and the only attempt I’ve made) but I won’t be too disappointed if I don’t get it. Competition is crazy fierce!
I noticed people talking about checking their applications to see when they were updated… how do I check that?
My buddy and I contacted the head of the IPAX program and he said that they received a huge amount of applications and they are just running late going through them.
Ohhhh goodness I’m so confused! It sounds like they are almost done with animation but my application still hasn’t been updated ( Does that really mean they haven’t looked at it yet?
